Bien ubicado, justo al lado del Lago Superior

The Shoreline Inn tiene una excelente ubicacion. Pudimos caminar y ver mucho en Grand Marais! El precio es accesible y dan un desayuno sencillo que puedes usar todo el dia. El hotel necesita una remodelacion.

Big hole and leak in ceiling in hall from rain. No maid service. Used rooms left undone and open for days - half of rooms midweek.

Staff were nice, and the location was excellent. Great water views. Easy walk to everything in Grand Marais. However, carpeting was too old to look clean, there were two wet towels from previous guests hanging on the back of the bathroom door. Towels were frayed. Found mouldy bread in the breakfast area, where both coffee carafes had orange handles marked "not decaf." Again, nice staff, but the place needs a re-do.

The staff was nice, and location is great. The building needs a lot of work. Our bathroom sink was clogged the whole time despite several efforts to fix. There were buckets in the hallway to catch the water from the leaking roof. Looks like general maintenance has been neglected. Liked that it was dog friendly.

Nice to find a lower price than other hotels and to be right on Lake Superior. It’s an older building with leaks and some issues. But the bed was comfortable, and it helps to have a fridge and microwave available.

Don't let the updated sign out front fool you. The whole building is old and outdated. Our room upon arrival had a strong chemical smell, which we later found out was "comet cleaner" which explained the white powdery film all over the bathroom tile floor. The main appeal to booking the Shoreline Inn was the view of Lake Superior. Each room has a bay window facing the water. Our's however was covered with a stained glass designed contact paper. Prohibiting seeing out. When questioned about it, we were told that the window was a dual paned window and the "gas" middle had caused the window to be fogged up. We were told that the room was labeled "village" which we were supposed to know meant you couldn't see the water. No explaination was given in their description online. There was no air condtioning on the property, which was stated in the description, a box fan was provided. But the two side windows of the bay could be opened. We were only able to open one side window, due to the other not having a screen to keep out the insects. The center ceiling light in the room was a flourescent fixture, that when on, was a strobe light. We were to stay two nights and could only bring ourselves to stay one. We would not recommend this property to anyone.

I haven't stayed at this property for probably 13 years. It was sad to see how its been "let go". Literally the same bedspreads, and faded posters on the walls. The tub had no mat, very slippery, had to stand on a washcloth. The carpet was in poor condition, torn wall paper. Our door had a huge gap on the top, and the extra lock on the inside was broken. The refrigerator control was broken. It was overall fairly clean, and the staff were wonderful. The location is the best, and we were on the lake side. Our windows did open, and you could see out of them. ( other reviews said you couldn't do either)This little hotel could be a gem, sad to see it like this. We still had a great time, so I could overlook these issues. But they really need to do repairs.

I enjoyed the ladies at the front desk. Roo was clean, bed was great. But breakfast was all carbs and not so good. The building is falling apart. In our room we had patio furniture. Very uncomfortable! Not a place to relax. Windows had no screens to keep out the bugs. Tv was difficult. No local channels and had to have someone come put it on her netflex or we couldnt have watched tv. If you are just looking to sleep for the night and move on, it will work for you. Bed was nice

The hotel is quite run down. The hallways needed a bucket to catch rain water. The carpets are stained. The rooms are cooled with open windows, but one of our two windows labeled a bug screen.

Was fine for a night stay, but the property, room and amenities feel old. Breakfast was somewhat limited and felt it could have started earlier. Staff was friendly, but this place needs some TLC.

The windows to see the lake view was clouded over. The room was dirty. There is no A/C, they said the sea breeze cools down the room. That is not true, because there was only one small window that had a screen. Also, if people have a bon fire outside the window you can't have the window open. The person checking us in was helpful and the bed was comfortable.

Upon checkin we were told that there was only one key to our room because they couldnt find the other one. The room temp was 80 degrees. We tried to trun the thermostat down. That didnt work. When we asked about it we were told that it was on a boiler system and the person who know how to fix it wouldn't be there until the next day. We found a fan opened the windows one of the windows did not have a screen on it. There were 2 of us registared for the room. The room only had one chair in it. When I went to use the shower the water never got warm. The only way to get warm water in the shower was to flush the toliet. When the toliet filled up the water got cold again. We were on the second the. There was no elevator to the second floor. The ceiling was leeking by the vending machines. The parking lot had a handicap sign but no ramp to the inside. Only steps. When I was carrying my bags out, I was pushing the door open when I suddenly felt something nipping at my feet. The staff member said "Oh it's okay he is blind" referring to dog nipping at me yankles. Please know I am a dog person but its never okay for them to nip at anyone. I will not stay there again nor do I recommend it.

I understand weed is legal, but waking up to our whole room smelling like it made our stay less enjoyable. If it was just outside it’s one thing, but it was coming through the air vents into the room. The ice machine was right outside our room which was annoying when trying to fall asleep. There was also dried blood spots on the light comforter. Other than that, the view and sounds of the waves on the shore were nice.
