The right place to stay in the Besançon area

Very charming, quiet and nearly romantic place not far from Besançon and conveniently close to the N57 main road to Vessel and Nancy in the north. Definitely worth spending the time to stay here instead of in the centre of town. Last but certainly not unimportant: the Chùteau also has an excellent restaurant

An exquisite hotel. 2 minor niggles, car parking erratic, in the woods, no tea coffee facilities in the rooms. Food 5 star quality, just would have liked to have been offered a menu instead of being told what has been set ( not good for non French speakers with a food intolerance or dislike of foie grasse). Fortunately I speak French and eat most things.
