We had such a wonderful stay at this house! It was impeccably clean, cozy, and immediately felt like a home away from home. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and we appreciated all the thoughtful amenities provided, like the extra blankets, firewood, & fully stocked kitchen. We especially loved spending evenings on the patio & the secluded, quiet neighborhood.

Our family, four adults and three children ages 4-10, had a fantastic stay! The fishing and kayaking were enjoyed daily and there were a ton of board games for the kids to enjoy. Great location - just far enough out of town to enjoy the peace but close enough to stores, activities, etc. Check in/out process was super easy! We would definitely stay again.

Beautiful, quiet location! Had everything we needed and we felt very comfortable. Provided a relaxing weekend with lots of things to do at the house: kayaking, bonfires, games, cornhole, etc. Short drive to downtown Gaylord for restaurants/breweries. Set-up of the house was perfect for us. Adults slept upstairs, kids downstairs. Morning coffee on the balcony was so peaceful! Would highly recommend!

Bridal Getaway

We loved our stay! The house was spacious for our group of 8. It was nice having the ability to spread out with the nicely furnished basement. The entire house was spotless and well equipped. We appreciated the extra pillows and blankets. The decor was warm and inviting. The view was lovely! We were able to enjoy the lake in the provided kayaks and the dock gave us another space to view the loons. Thank you for a great stay!

We were in the area to clean out my father-in-laws house who recently passed away. This lake house was the perfect place to relax at the end of each day. The listing was 100% accurate, the lake view is beautiful and the kayaks and rowboat were so much fun! Lindsay was great to communicate with as well! Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again!

Great stay at a cozy cabin

We really enjoyed our stay at Lake Effect. Its a cozy cabin in its own little lot. Very clean inside. We really liked the available blankets. Everything is as advertised and we recommend a stay here.

My brothers and I came for an up North deer hunters reunion which we hadnt done in six years.. We had a great time with a lot of new memories made. Tcottage was wonderful..

Had a great stay at this pretty home on the lake. Home was very clean and comfortable, and the bed was one of the most comfortable we’ve had in a rental property. Easy access to home and great communications with the home owner. We definitely will consider renting this property again.

Loved our stay!

The home is just as cute in person as it is in the listing. Everything has been thoughtfully decorated and it's just an adorable up north oasis. I'm always a fan of nice linens and the quality towels and sheets were greatly appreciated. Everything in the home was very clean. The garage has all the goodies you could want for a fun family day, and the extra thoughtfulness to provide the water cooler was fantastic. The view is beautiful from the home and the drive in was so fun in the fall colors. Lynds was the perfect host and we're so thankful we picked this place. Thank you for everything!

Secluded getaway

We visited Lake Effect with two other couples. There was plenty of room for all 6 adults. Lindsay was great and quick to respond to all of my questions before our arrival. The kitchen was well stocked including a water cooler-a nice bonus! We relaxed on the quiet and secluded beach. We would recommend Lake Effect and stay again.

Celebrating my Husbands 50th birthday with family

We had an absolutely wonderful stay. The house was beautifully decorated and provided a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The location was great with shops, wineries, and great restaurants nearby. We celebrated my husband’s birthday at The Bennethums, which was delicious. After a full day of golfing and enjoying the beach, we stopped for ice cream that everyone loved. Otsego Beach was a highlight, offering a fantastic day out with the family. Evenings were spent playing corn hole, cards, and making s’mores around the fire. It was a great long weekend for everyone, and we highly recommend this property!

Rest and Fun on the Water

Our family (3 generations) had a great vacation! The house was well stocked, clean, and comfortable. We all enjoyed the kayaks, fishing, the row boat, air hockey, and campfires right at the house. The location was great: peaceful, quiet, and beautiful, but only 15 minutes into town or to Otsego State Park and a beautiful swimming beach. We also enjoyed Putt Putt, ice cream, and shopping in Gaylord. Overall a wonderful vacation! Thanks!

Book this house. Great House and fantastic Owner!

This beautiful house was perfect. The secluded drive to a wonderful house on a pretty lake. Leave the world behind. Watch the sunset from the deck. The house was clean, the kitchen very well equipped, everything we needed was there. Gameroom downstairs w a bedroom and laundry room. The decor was welcoming, the place was perfect, and Lindsay was an exceptional host. Seriously. I've stayed in dozens of VRBOs. She's the best.

Lakeside getaway

Check in process was easy, host super responsive to questions and needs during our stay. The house is in a quiet area on the lake with a large, sandy beach. We enjoyed the rowboat and kayaks! Home is well stocked and offers a warm and welcome atmosphere. We had 9 adults in our group and plenty of room in the house. Deck is also fantastic with lots of seating. We enjoyed staying here for our family reunion. Thank you!

Spring break family trip

The owner was super accommodating with a couple of last minute changes with my fiancée being added and also deciding to add an extra day! I grew up in the town and wanted to spend time with family and friends. The location was absolutely amazing! The lake view was enjoyed every day with a cup of coffee. We enjoyed seeing all the tiny footprints in the snow and seeing the squirrels run around. We definitely would like to book again in summertime!

Quiet Winter Getaway Retreat

We gathered at this perfect property tucked into the woods on a quiet lake for some winter adventuring in Gaylord. It was just right for a girls’ trip! The neighborhood was quiet, the house had everything we needed, the hosts were excellent communicators, and we found plenty to do in the area in February. If we find ourselves back in this area, we will definitely stay here again!
