In order to enter the room I had to use excessive force and even push with my foot on the bottom corner of the door, since it was swollen in the frame. Once we finally got in the room, we were greeted by a wall of musty, damp air and even the smell of weed by the balcony door. The air smelled slightly better by the end of the trip, but was still noticeably musty by the end of the three days there. The room’s carpet was stained and had multiple burn marks around the fireplace. The ceiling also had many small rust colored stains. Moving on to the furniture, the single chair had a broken leg and the bed had one of the most uncomfortable mattresses I have slept on. That is all just in the main room. For the bathroom, the door would not fully close, and the grout in the shower and shower curtain both had mold. Beyond the room, the staff was nice but at least three times during check in said there were no refunds if we left early. Overall I was disappointed with Brookside Lodge and would not recommend it to anyone I know.
