Shaw House is very spacious. It has a large living room and dining room. All the bedrooms are large with closets and storage areas. The bathrooms are nice sized, too, with adequate numbers of towels & bath amenities provided. The mattress in the downstairs master bedroom where I slept was very comfortable. So, I enjoyed a serene night's sleep on the two nights I spent there. The other three adults in my party reported pleasant sleeping experiences in their upstairs beds, as well. The kitchen is well appointed with necessary appliances. There are plenty of table ware, cutlery, and cooking utensils available if home cooking is preferred. The Shaw House location is outstanding for visiting Galveston Island City as it is close to interesting landmarks, museums & businesses. It has easy access to the popular Strand with its interesting shops and restaurants. The Sea Wall is also nearby. However, Shaw House is not located close to beaches. So people desiring a beach vacation need to rent a beach house on the West End side of Galveston Island. I have one suggestion. There are 3 full bathrooms and 1 half bathroom, Not 4 full bathrooms containing a tub or shower. VRBO lists Shaw House as having 4 bathrooms without explaining that one of the "bathrooms" is only a Half Bathroom on 1st Floor.
