My family and I decided to take a last minute vacation, and this was perfect! The house is in an excellent location; very private, and just minutes away from the beach. The pool is great, the beds are comfortable and the game room is awesome. Check in was super easy. Can’t wait to book with Beach Box Rentals again soon.

the stay at this location was so so bad, as soon as we opened the doors we found few dead roaches, and many roaches crawling, under beds, under mattress, and on sealing fan. we even found 2 lizards in one of the room. the pool was nice but it was very filthy and dirty water. The dryer to dry cloths was not working, there were no shampoo or conditioner and even the hand wash bottles were empty. the experience was just really bad for us....

Our family enjoyed the time we spent at Casa Del Mar. My husband would have preferred to be closer to the beach but I knew when I booked it we would have a short drive. I suggest bringing your own knives if you plan to cut up veggies for cooking. We had elderly people with us so the stairs were difficult for them but again, I knew this before booking. We enjoyed the beautiful sunsets while sitting on the breezeway under the house and utilized the pool to stay cool!

The property fit all of our needs, and we really enjoyed our time. I do, however, think the property could use some upgrades and better cleaning. The door fixtures kept falling off, the floor is peeling (you need to wear shoes when in the kitchen; I cut the back of my foot on some of the peeling flooring), and only some of the ceiling fans worked. The rug in the living room was pretty dirty and the light fixtures above the island are covered in dust (at first, I thought it was just the rope fraying but it was dust).

Private Beach House Getaway

Great location to get away from it all with close access to the beach. Large comfortable beds and huge bedrooms. Both bathrooms can be accessed by adjacent bedroom or common area. Outdoor bathroom is a plus. Great pool with views of sunset. Wrap around porch with comfortable seating. Great open floor plan. Kitchen supplies are adequate. Flooring needs replacement - many areas with cracks. Loft bedroom does not have ceiling fan, but box fans were provided. Very private location.

We went on a family vacation to Galveston. There were 20 of us. The house had some pros and some cons. Pros: Sitting on the porch in the back at sunrise/sunset was beautiful. The house had all the essentials needed. There was enough towels for everyone and the kitchen was well equipped with pots/pans/utensils, etc. This came in handy since we cooked all of our meals at the house. We never felt cramped due to the house layout. The 2 bathrooms were a challenge at times, but we made it work. The location was close to everything we needed but far enough away from the congestion of the beach. Cons: The pool and bunkroom had a crab infestation. The pool had hundreds of tiny crabs in it. The kids used it a bit but none of us adults even attempted to get in the pool. Also, our boys in the bunk room had crabs, frogs, and spiders all in their clothes and belongings. Yikes!!!! Also, the outside trash bins were completely full when we arrived. During our stay, we had to put the trash outside next to the bins. The birds and coyotes were all in the trash. I constantly had to pick up trash in the yard.

Don't recommend

We're stayed in alot of verbo rentals, this house is definitely not equipped for the number of people it sleeps. Like 5 spoons, no cookie sheets for baking, master bedroom has no tv. Only 2 bathrooms. The game room/ kid's bunk room isn't connected to the house, so you have to go outside and up the stairs to come in, which wasn't stated. Wouldn't recommend this house or want to come back.

Loved loved loved, away from the hustle n bustle of the seawall. The pool was my favorite, private, quiet, true relaxation. The game room was fun as well. This will be my #1 choice next time.

Christmas in Galveston

This property could be spectacular with a little TLC and updating. The layout worked for us with 10 people. We were in Galveston during a rainy week so most of our time was spent in the house.The kitchen was great for cooking meals for a group. Hint I took most of the food frozen so I didn't have to spend my time cooking. The items stocked in the house worked out just fine for us. The deck and outside were spectacular for the time that was not raining.

Aesthetically nice but not great otherwise.

The keys didn’t match’s the locks on the front or back door and the guest that got there first was locked out for 45 mins in the cold and the lady one the phone wasn’t very helpful. Eventually maintenance came out and said they had to change the lock and we couldn’t lock the top lock. We didn’t have access to the game room for a full day due the key ordeal, once we got access we couldn’t stay in the game room long because it smelled of mold and mildew.The main floor had soft spots in the floors in the living room and the master bedroom, they’re weren’t an adequate amount of towels or wash clothes and we had to ask for those. Russel who we contacted through the app was polite and responsive, but when the cleaners arrived they only arrived with wash clothes and we had to send the back for towels. For the stay we had I would say it was very overpriced. We will be contacting the property manager for a partial refund due to the lack of access to the whole property and being locked out.

The view is great

We utilized the space for a Ladies Weekend getaway. Friday night we noticed right away there were roaches in the kitchen as we began to start cooking. We only noticed them in the kitchen. Everyone slept in the main house area because the Downstairs room that has the 6 bunk beds, was full of mosquitos and the only access to the room was by outside stairs, at night, the lighting was a bit dim for this too, so if your group is drinking, be careful. I was surprised that the third bathroom was completely outside and downstairs. Again, the mosquitos will keep you company. The view in the daytime is peaceful and the walk to the beach isnt bad at all. If you want to use the fire pit you have to bring your own supply, and be careful of the deck! Some nails are not all the way in!
