Home on the Isle - Dog Friendly!

Our home is a beautifully cozy 1940s Craftsman located just minutes from all the best that Galveston has to offer. A few blocks drive to both the Strand and Seawall, this home boasts multiple modern upgrades while maintaining much of its historic charm, such as portions of the original cabinetry, hardwood floors, and interior doors with glass door knobs.

When you aren't out enjoying all the sights on the island, kick back and relax in the cozy living room and watch your favorite show on the 58 inch cable TV. The updated eat-in kitchen is beyond bright and spacious and stocked with all the amenities of home, including a dishwasher and garbage disposal. The adjacent formal dining room seats an additional six, perfect for hosting family gatherings! The built-in hallway cabinet contains games and puzzles for family entertainment.

Bedroom 1 features a queen-sized bed with a set of twin bunks, complete with a nightstand, chest of drawers and a 32 inch Smart TV. Please note top bunk weight limit is 150 pounds. Bedroom 2 features a king-sized bed, nightstand, chest of drawers, 36 inch Smart TV and full-sized dresser and mirror (not pictured). Both bedrooms are equipped with a closet. An additional twin bed is located in the sunroom off of the kitchen.

The bathroom yields tons of storage space and is where you will find both bath linens and beach towels, a hair dryer, extra toilet paper, and a first aid kit. Multiple drawers are available for storing your personal items out-of-sight.

The large, private fenced backyard is perfect for those who enjoy outdoor entertaining and/or travelling with their dogs. Tons of room for both kids and pets to run and play. After a day at the beach, relax and enjoy a cold beverage on the huge covered back porch under the patio lights, all while watching the game on the outdoor TV! Dine at the outdoor table when the weather is pleasant. Laundry facilities and supplies are accessible to guests and located in the garage, as are beach items such as boogie boards and extra chairs, outdoor table umbrella, etc. This area is also perfect for storing empty coolers or hanging up sandy beach towels. There is also a new outdoor shower. Pet waste bag dispenser and bags provided at laundry entrance, we do respectfully ask that you clean up after your dog.

Bachelor and bachelorette parties are not permitted. Day guests are not permitted without obtaining owner's permission. Renter must provide names and ages of everyone in their party, and primary renter must be one of them. We cannot accept bookings longer than 14 days. Triathlon weekend

The house was fantastic, immaculate, well decorated and peaceful neighborhood. Within a couple of miles of anything we wanted to get to. The hosts were amazing answering any questions posted on VRBO within minutes of asking and were very accommodating of changes related to our stay before we got there. We rented the place because it was dog friendly and at last minute we could not bring our dog and they immediately said the pet fee would be refunded even though it was last minute. When I got to the house they had healthy snacks on the counter, dog treats in a plastic bag in the dog bowl and water bottles and ice already in the refrigerator, I would absolutely go back to this house in the future.

Lovely Accommodation

We came to Galveston, two old friends (in our late seventies) to enjoy a couple of days of fishing. We wanted a place which would allow us to enjoy a couple of after-dinner cigars and cognac on the porch. As it turned out we never did smoke those cigars but it was nice to have had the opportunity to do so. Kelly, our host, has been extremely responsive and accommodating. Anniversary Retreat

Our 42nd anniversary! We decided to visit Galveston. I located Kelly’s darling rental and was thrilled to see the back yard. We bring our dog and want to see what kind of outdoor space he will have. The house was immaculate looked like the ad. Decorated cute but livable especially with a big dog. Everything you could possibly need was there even treats for Nemo. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this home!! We made a quick “about to head back to school” trip with our two college aged kids and four legged baby. This house was perfect! Centrally located to all the things we wanted to do on the island. Plenty of room for 4 adults. Everything is very well organized and easy to find. The decor has a beachy feel without being overboard. Beds were very comfortable. The backyard was perfect for our dog. The host thought of everything! Even things we didn’t think we needed (like ziplock bags we used for our shell collection). She also provided a handy snack basket for our arrival…and had treats for our dog! Great communication and a welcome book with restaurant selections and activities complete with contact information. Book the Home on the Isle! You will not be disappointed!!

Clean, cozy, charming and pet friendly place to stay close to the beach

This was one of the most pleasant VRBO experiences we’ve had. The home is clean (smells great!), neatly organized, and very well equipped with everything you might need or want for a weekend getaway. Communication from the host was excellent. We really appreciated there not being a weight/size limit for pets so that we could bring our large golden retriever. The biscuits waiting in a baggy in the elevated dog dish with water bowl was an especially nice touch. She happily found them immediately! The fenced back yard was great for sitting outside with her, too. The house is in a quiet neighborhood even if the street is a busier one at certain times of the day. We recommend backing into the driveway to ensure the safest exits when you leave. We would absolutely stay here again. Thanks for a great stay!
