Exceeded expectations. I wish I got the name of the kind woman who helped us check in and talked with us during our stay. We appreciated her help. Loved the Onsen, loved that we could cook our own dinner, the hikes, went for a run. This is one of our favourite places and we would highly recommend. This little town and the place we stayed was the highlight of our trip to Japan. First of all, the town itself was such a breath of fresh air after being in the middle of Tokyo most of the week. Quiet, surrounded by nature, and then we came to the place we were staying. Traditional, you have to leave your shoes by the front door upon entering. The staff was very friendly throughout our whole stay. The room was a good size, and opening the window gave you a great white noise from the river running below. There was a traditional sitting area along with 2 beds and a bathroom. There are shared private showers on the 3rd floor. There is a shared kitchen area you can use, and you can order food part of the day. There are vending machines, one for drinks and one for ice cream. They had some flavors I hadn't seen before, so if you like ice cream, check it out! There is also frozen sake drinks for sale in the freezer downstairs. Give one a try! The onsen was an incredible experience. It's not like any other hot tub or hot spring I've ever been in. The way you feel after having a soak is incredible! There are private ones you can rent, or there are the public ones for men and women. They are tattoo friendly!! That was important for everyone involved with my group. I know the process is a bit strange to some foreigners, myself included, but it was honestly one of the highlights of my whole trip, and my biggest regret is that I didnt go more than I did! I hope to be back one day!

Located in a very center of the Tuchiyu hotspring area. The room was spacious and hot spring was very nice. There were several small restaurants and short walking course.

The property itself was situated in a beautiful onsen town, which was very charming with a lot of quaint shops and restaurants, as well as a walking trail which we enjoyed. The staff at the hostel was so sweet! We felt very welcomed and taken care of. The room itself was clean but a little on the plainer side; which I understand was to be expected for a hostel property. We faced the rushing River which was a treat to listen to at night. The private onsen was so relaxing. I just wished they informed you in advance that there will be shampoo, conditioner, and body soap available without a fee. I purchased a pack thinking nothing would be provided. Besides this, we loved our stay. Thank you!

I like everything about this place from the public space and onsen! But please do mind that this place is near a source of onsen spring so it is quiet smelly (a smell of sulfur (i guess)). But it is natural so it is a good experience! If you need pick up, just contact the hotel the day before arrival!

Yumori is a great space, so relaxing and the staff were so friendly and professional. They went out of their way to give us recommendations, and to chat with us in English. We felt so welcome! The space is beautiful and very clean. Our tatami room was spacious and comfortable. Try the amazake!
