The location of this hotel was amazing. 2 min walk to the beach and ample free parking in a public car park 500m away. Good sized room for 2 adults and a child. Indoor pool free to use and very clean. Helpful staff at check in although breakfast a little expensive. Thank you for a lovely stay.

A fairly good but not a Grand hotel experience.

First impressions count - we were 30 minutes early (difficult to predict traffic in August) but were told to come back at 2:30, rather than sit in the pleasant courtyard and have drink while you wait. Eventual check in was straightforward. The room was very small (but we knew that from previous reviews and were only there for one night) but the curtains were torn as it's impossible to open the windows without opening them and they don't slide without standing on the stool and as there's no A/C you need to open the windows. The bathroom was minute (nose touches the wall while sitting on the loo!) but we'll equipped, especially the shower which was fantastic. Bed was comfortable and linen and towels clean. **There are no tea and coffee facilities in the room** This was mentioned by a reviewer in 2018 so why they're still listed as being in the room defeats me. We were given towels, robes and flipflops but then didn't use the pool or spar as swimming shorts are forbidden - that would have been good to know in advance. Private parking is also mentioned as possible but in reality it's almost impossible to get. Breakfast was great - good choice of items including cereal, fresh fruit, meat, cheese and boiled eggs as well as breads, croissants and pastries. Everything was replenished promptly. In summary, a fairly good experience but certainly not a grand hotel spa experience. Great for a night or two but I'd struggle to be there for longer.

Great value

Friendly staff, who all spoke English. Maria at the bar was super nice, and offered lots of advice on dining outside the hotel. Hotel restaurant was excellent. Only 25 mins to old town. Ample parking next to the river in old town. Great city to walk around.

Room was a little small but pleasant, light and comfortable. Hotel does not have AC so be a little wary in the summer months. Breakfast was good, but at 11 euros a day per person, it is a little pricey especially as there are many local eateries nearby.

Well Situated

Stayed a second night in this hotel, as said before, charming hotel, friendly staff, within walking distance of beach and restaurants/casino. Spa is a bonus too, free access is included in all rooms except for the Standard double whereby an additional cost to enter the spa will need to be paid at the hotel.

Charming Hotel

Charming Hotel with friendly staff. Well situated within a short walk to restaurants/beach/casino. We booked the Standard Double Room which does not include access to the Spa but you can pay extra for access to it. The more superior rooms have access to the Spa included in the price. Will definitely stay in this Hotel again.

Great hotel to use as a base.

Hotel staff were very friendly and were able to understand English as we have no French. Hotel has a relaxing air, with a nice sauna, steam room and swimming pool. Breakfast is available at additional cost, but fair value for money and includes fresh fruit salad, ham & cheese, selection of breads, jams/preserves, boiled eggs, croissants, yougart, tea and coffee etc. The hotel has a bar that sells drinks, but unfortunately this closes at 9pm.

Friendly staff, great hotel!

Nice, clean place with spa facilities as a bonus (remember your Speedos). The staff could not have been friendlier and would go out of their way to help us with bookings of train tickets, restaurants, etc. The son of the manageress even drove us to the station in Rochefort when he could not find a taxi for us. Nice relaxed breakfasts in the court yard was another plus.
