Casa La Zagara: Carefully restored cottage in a picturesque mountain village

Our holiday cottage «Casa La Zagara» („Orange Blossom“) consists of three storeys with just one room each. The lower floor levels to the main street while the upper floor levels to the back front with the main entrance.

Enter the building by the back front door and you'll find yourself in the spacious kitchen-cum-livingroom. The kitchen is fully equipped with 4-plate-stove, oven, dishwasher and washing machine. A gas heater provides warm water and central heating for the whole house in winter. In the warm seasons the balcony invites to breakfast while enjoying the view over the Straits of Messina and watching the village life.

To the right of the main entrance door the stairs run down to the lower floors. Both storeys consist of a bedroom and a bathroom with shower, water closet and bidet. The middle floor bedroom has a matrimonial bed and a small balcony. Downstairs there is a bunk bed, suitable for (not too small) children or (not too tall) teenagers/adults, and a bedsofa.
The vacation home is heated and features a kitchen and a balcony, and there's space to spread out with 2 bedrooms. Guests can expect to find WiFi and a TV with a DVD player. The bathroom offers hair dryers and bidets. Other standard amenities include a washing machine, a sofa bed, and a coffee maker.

Perfekter Standort mit sizilianischem Flair

Die Casa La Zagara ist ein liebevoll und landestypisch restauriertes Haus inmitten des autentischen Bergdorfes Forza d`Agro. Dieses bietet eine fußläufige Infrastruktur mit Lebensmittelgeschäften zur Selbstversorgung, diversen guten Speiserestaurants (wir haben uns bei "Anni 60" mit Blick auf das Ionische Meer sehr wohlgefühlt). Das Dorf ist tagsüber angesichts vieler Besucher recht munter und verfällt zum Nachmittag und Abend in eine erholsame Lethargie. Es fällt leicht an dieser teil zu haben, z.B. in der Küche am Balkon mit phantastischem Meerblick. Im Haus selbst fehlt es an nichts und es ist ein sehr erholsames und angenehmes und auch kühles Refugium nach einem anstrengenden Besuch im nahen Taormina oder Syrakus, einer Wanderung am Nordhang des Ätna oder Spaziergängen in der Natur der direkten Umgebung. Sehr zu empfehlen ist der nur 10 Autominuten entfernte "Hausstrand" in San Alessio (Kies, familiär, im Juni noch ruhig). Es war für uns eine Bereicherung die Eigentümer des Hauses Enrica und Gunther Teubner vor Ort kennenzulernen, sprach- und landeskundig haben sie uns sehr charmant und hilfsbereit unterstützt. Zusammenfassend blicken wir auf einen abwechslungsreichen, interessanten und zugleich sehr erholsamen Urlaub zurück und möchten die Casa La Zagara uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Wunderbares Haus in einem wunderbaren Dorf

Wir haben die Zeit in dem schönen Dorfhaus in Forza d'Agrò sehr genossen. Es gibt eine komplette Ausstattung und man fühlt sich sehr wohl. Der Ausblick vom Balkon ist grandios und das Dorf ist wirklich wunderbar. Wenn man vor dem Urlaub ein paar Worte italienisch lernt, fühlt man sich doppelt so willkommen, aber auch ohne Sprachkenntnisse verhungert man nicht ;) Von uns eine klare Empfehlung

Wundervolles Domizil

Das Haus liegt inmitten der Altstadt von Forza. Es ist von der Parkmöglichkeit fußläufig (etwa 200m) erreichbar. Schräg gegenüber ist ein kleines Lebensmittelgeschäft und zum Bäcker sind es etwa 7 Minuten Fußweg. Das Haus reicht über 3 Etagen, die über eine enge Treppe miteinander verbunden sind. Die beiden Schlafetagen verfügen jeweils über ein Bad mit Dusche, Toilette und Bidet. Die Ausstattung ist ziemlich allumfassend. Von ausreichend Geschirr, Besteck, Töpfen, Pfannen, über Kaffe- Geschirrspül- und Waschmaschine haben wir nichts vermisst. Die Dekorationen sind passend zum Altbaucharme des Hauses. Der Ort ist durch die Dreharbeiten des Paten bekannt geworden und liegt etwa 450 m üdM. Man sollte daher Serpentinenerfahren sein. Am Ortseingang und im Ort sind mehrere Restaurants und Bars, die alle sehr leckeres Essen anbieten. Abends hat der Kiosk auf der Piazza geöffnet, der einen auch mit leckeren Cocktails und Getränken versorgt. Es gibt genügend Einwohner, die deutsch verstehen, so dass auch die Verständigung von Nicht-italienisch-könnenden sehr gut funktioniert. Auch die Kommunikation mit dem Hausbesitzer war einfach und unkompliziert.

A Holiday to Remember

Wir waren als Familie (4 köpfig) auf Sizilien unterwegs und hatten einen ganz wunderbaren Urlaub in der Casa. Das Haus ist sehr schön hergerichtet und hochwertig renoviert, es ist nicht groß aber vollkommen ausreichend insbesondere die zwei Bäder sind ein Plus. Das Dorf Forza d‘Agro ist aus unserer Sicht ein Jackpot gewesen, es ist sehr hübsch, relativ ruhig (insbesondere im Vergleich zu Taormina), es gibt gute Restaurants und man bekommt schnell das Gefühl dass man dazugehört. Die Strände die in der Nähe sind haben zwar kleine Steinchen aber das Wasser ist klar, die Stände sehr sauber und sie sind nicht überfüllt, wir hatten eine tolle Zeit am Meer. Ich würde ein Auto empfehlen, damit man mobil bleibt. Es gibt viele Ausflugsziele zum Beispiel den Ätna, Taormina, ein bisschen weiter weg aber absolut sehenswert Syrakusa und Noto. Jonas hat eine hervorragende Kommunikation geleistet und war immer erreichbar und sehr nett und hilfreich. Danke für alles!

Einzigartig

Ein liebevoll dekoriertes Haus. Endlich auch im Urlaub ein bequemes Bett, sehr bequem, dass neben jedem Schlafzimmer ein Bad vorhanden ist. Die Lage und die ganze Umgebung ist etwas ganz besonderes. Als ob die Zeit vor Jahrzehnten stehen geblieben ist. Auf der Straße selbst zwei Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Wir waren aber zu faul und immer wieder in dem Familien Restaurant Trattoria 60.

Mitten im ländlichen Leben

Die Casa liegt eingebettet in viel Ursprünglichkeit, die Aussicht über Land und Meer ist fantastisch. Die schönen Katzen kommen zu Besuch und fragen, ob man ihnen nicht etwas mitgebracht hätte. Das Haus, das Dorf und die nähere Umgebung wirken etwas aus der aktuellen Zeit gefallen. Darum haben wir es während unseres Aufenthaltes nicht weit auf der Insel gebracht. Wir haben uns hier einfach nur sehr wohl gefühlt und es gab viel zu entdecken. Die Zeiten der Entstehung des Ortes, die Einflussnahme durch erobernde Völker haben ihre Spuren hinterlassen. Beim Wandern naschten wir mal hier eine Feige, eine Mandel, beobachten eine Gottesanbeterin, deren Weg wir kreuzten, sammelten unter einer Kastanie die Stacheln eines Stachelschweins. Neben den bildhaften Eindrücken des Urlaubes haben wir einige Gläser "Fichi e Mandorle" von Franca vom Laden gegenüber mit nach Hause genommen und haben so noch für eine gewisse Zeit den Geschmack Siziliens auf der Zunge.
