Nice clean facility, unit was updated and easy access to the beach. Checkin was simple and we enjoyed every minute of our vacation.

This was our fourth time to stay at the Gulf Dunes and as always we love the management and people that work outside with the umbrellas. Everything is always neat and clean! There are places we can walk to and eat or we can drive for a few minutes to Destin. There were things close by for all ages of our family to enjoy.

It is in a perfect location on the beach and we were able to walk to several restaurants. It was nice that the rental agreement included a beach umbrella and 2 chairs that were set up for us each morning out on the beach. I would definitely recommend Brooks and Shorey for a vacation rental!

Didn't have to worry about the kids breaking decor pieces of fancy decor. I teas so comfortable and if I had such a place it would feel and look just like this. It was immaculately clean and well equipped. Kitch was really nice.

Poor first impression

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed in Gulf Dunes 210. We arrived late and went directly to the bedroom where we were greeted with a bathtub with a huge hole in it and crime scene tape over it to keep it from being used. Not a great first impression. The next day when we had a chance to experience the entire space we found it to actually be a very nice condo with plenty of space for the 5 of us. I use Brooks and Shorey every time we vacation in the area and have never been disappointed. I think they would have been well served to have informed us of the issue instead of letting it surprise us after an already trying day of travel.

Horrible House—B&S switched to save our stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented Coconut Beach House from Brooks & Shorey. It was filthy—sand in “pantry”, mud on bedding, dirty cookware, bath/ shower not cleaned, trash left on patio. It was in horrible disrepair. The fridge was missing shelves, and all door racks were broken. The oven door even came apart and fell off! We were moved from a sleeps 12 house to a sleeps 8 condo , but it was at least functional and clean. A refund of the $$$ paid was not offered as an option.Gulf Dunes was a lovely property and experience. The low sores are reflective of the abysmal Coconut Beach House.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This 3-bedroom end unit was generally in good condition and well-decorated. The view from the 2nd floor was just high enough to see across the dunes to the water. The kitchen had an unusually large counter, which was nice, and was adequately stocked with dishes, appliances, utensils, & pots/pans. The only minor complaints were the very hard and uncomfortable mattress in the queen bedroom, with a shower in that room that leaked water all over the floor every time it was used, and the uncomfortable and limited balcony furniture. Only one wooden lounger without a pad, and a small high top table with room for only 3 tall stools. The shower issue was reported upon checkout & Brooks & Shorey said they would address it.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo was very nice, looked just like the online pictures and had plenty of space for 6 guests. All beds were uncomfortable though and made for a tough week of sleeping. Suggest blackout shades for at least the front 2 rooms but could also use them in the master bedroom. Location was convenient to the beach, retail and restaurants. Did not like the beach service letting tents be put up in front of the second row of chairs. It restricted the view. Also gates not locked to pool area so anyone can walk in.

Had a problem with water heater and maintenance came and fixed it. The balcony was wet and a little dirty. I would like to suggest blackout curtains in the room with twin beds. Light shines in the window all night. As always, all staff were nice and helpful. Had a great time.
