Check in was easy and the place was in a great location. We unloaded, went to the grocery store etc. We went to the beach the evening, came back took a shower up stairs, and the downstairs bedroom begin to flood. Water was dripping from the ceiling, down the wall, onto (already molded)blinds and to the floor. We contacted the owner, no response within a hour. I contacted VRBO, they kept me on hold for more than 2 hours of my call with them. In the meantime of being on hold, the owner called back. I explained what was going on, he knew then where the leak was, because he says, it’s above the window, right. He then began to give a bogus story of water dripping behind the faucet, which was evident not to be accurate. After questioning the situation etc he didn’t like the fact that we were upset and kicked me out at 11pm in a Friday night. VRBO left me with no options but to look for my own place to stay for the night, at midnight until I could find me another place the next morning. They did not refund me until the following Monday. This situation almost ruined my vacation I get ONLY once a year. Nevertheless I was able to find a place through a competitor the next morning and the rest of my vacation was fabulous!!
I would like to add that the place I initially rented was back on VRBO by the following Tuesday as a new listing.
