The hotel is really nice, the area around it is not, right beside a Burger King and a Shell, and lots of semis park in front of the hotel and run their engines all night. The back of the hotel is definitely quieter, but unfortunately the in-room heating/cooling system is not great - you can't actually turn it off, so it either goes on and off all night or runs continuously with a loud fan. I have never stayed in a hotel with a wall heater/AC that you can't turn off.

It has a lobby bar/small restaurant primarily for guests (not advertised on the outside of building) open from 5pm to 11pm with some good food options and TVs.

Very sparse amenities. Hot tub and sauna out of order. No ice or vending machines. No milk or ways to make tea at certain times of the day. Not even bags for your laundry or robes like most hotels have. Beds were uncomfortable and pillows were lumpy. The only staff that were friendly and seemed happy and nice were the staff that did the breakfast. I dont recommend this hotel and will not be going back the next time we visit Fort McMurray.

Great Place to Stay

This was my first stay at this hotel in Fort McMurray. When I checked in, they did everything they could to accommodate my 2 night stay, including making sure I wasn’t on the same floor as the kids hockey team which included upgrading my room. My only complaint is that the breakfast thats included with the stay, it isnt available before 6:00am which I found a bit inconvenient since the hotel is utilitzed by plenty of oilfield companies in town whos workdays start at 6:00am so having the breakfast available prior would have been better.
