Cottage in the mountains

First I would like to explain that to reach the house by car, you need experience on narrow mountain roads.
The road is paved, but it is quite narrow and has sharp curves with slopes.

To get to the house there is 3. 9 km (15 minutes) of narrow road from Biniaraix and 7km (25 minutes) from the petrol station of Soller

We say this because people are not used to this type of road and the road from Biniaraix to the house can make it difficult if you don't have some experience in driving on narrow roads.

The last two curves just before to get to the house are a bit closer and are together (These two curves are in the last two photos of the ad) and it is possible that some inexperienced drivers have to make a maneuver.

We have a Renault Kangoo and climb without any problem
To reach the house always recommend a small car or medium.

We also want to say that thanks to this narrow path, the landscape and the area has been preserved very little built, which makes it a very green place with great views, perfect for relaxing and disconnecting

The house is in a sunny place very well located for hiking.
From the house you can make excursions to the Barranc de Biniaraix, Puig de L'Ofre, Es Cormadors or Es Portell de sa Costa

What a phenomenal place!

We had a wonderful stay high up in the mountains . The place is very spacious and looks even better that in the photos. It is a 30 min ride on a very narrow, curvy, steep road with the occasional vehicle coming from the other direction, not for the faint of heart. We did not leave the mountain only every other day, not only because of the drive but also because it is so peaceful and relaxing to just stay there, certainly compared to the rest of the island. Juan, the host is great, he answered all questions, quickly. One tip, use Apple Maps for the final stretch, Google maps is not accurate in the area, it has another road from the property towards the NE which does not exist.

Stunning location

We enjoyed our stay very much. The mountain location was so beautiful you didn’t want to leave it even to explore a nearby beach. The drive up and down is a challenging 25 mins with very steep and blind zigzags so we didn’t attempt to do it in the dark. However, we found the lovely village of Fornalutx by hiking 50mins each way which we did for eating out in the evenings. The restaurants are very good there. We stayed in 34 degrees heat in August and the evenings were difficult for sleeping with no AC but still worth it. The house is very spacious and indoor and outdoor kitchens very well equipped. Pool was also so wonderful to enjoy the view. Our kids loved hearing the sheep every day and passing by the friendly donkeys on our walks. We had a fabulous stay thank you!

Wow!

What an amazing property on the Tramontana mountains. Joan has rebuilt an old stone cottage and converted it into an incredible restful retreat. Fantastic view to wake up to surrounded by nature, grazing sheep and millennial olive trees. Watch the setting sun over Soller and take a dip in the pool to cool down after a hike,. Gracias, Joan and Gina for sharing your house with us.

Amazing house, breathtaking views, stunning weather.

Fabulous house in the mountains, it contained everything we needed. The views were to die for! Lots of eagles, mountain sheep, olive & lemon groves. Amazing outdoor space including barbecue & pool. Bit warm through the night, challenging 15 minute drive up to the property on single track troad with hairpin bends but very doable & got easier with practice! Just call in at the supermarket while you’re out for the day. Would definitely stay there again.

Secluded mountain paradise perfect for a relaxing getaway

LOVED IT. We REALLY enjoyed our stay the Mallorca mountain cottage. We weren't sure what to expect but we are glad we committed, primarily due to the reviews. It is true, the photos don't do the place justice. It truly is a unique and lovely property. Yes, the drive was daunting at first but grew to be manageable ... just make sure you stock up on plenty of deliciously (and cheap!) vino and yummy meats and treats for grilling in the amazing outdoor grill. We preferred to only make the drive up/down 1x per day - this might not be an ideal for those who plan on going back and forth a lot (drinking heavily or at night) but it's fine as long as you plan accordingly. The house was obviously very well built and thoughtfully designed, right down to the integrated bedrock in the living spaces. My architect husband definitely approved! The outdoor spaces were well laid out and the views to die for. Wild mountainous terrain and olive trees for miles! The sun comes from behind the mountain so the early mornings were shadowed but by 10:30 AM the top private patio had glorious sun and the evening sunsets were unparalleled. The newly added dipping pool area w outdoor shower really was an amazing addition. You literally feel like you're on top of the world. We only saw a random hiker and a few sheep so this place is perfect for those who want a peaceful, private, naturalistic getaway. Charming villages close by if you fancy a lunch out too. Palma was only about 40 mins away. Awesome scenic drive. Host was VERY responsive and accommodating. I would totally recommend. THANK YOU!

A lovely house in stunning surroundings with lots of outdoor space. It is a bit of a hike but very private. The pool area is beautiful as is the BBQ area. The wifi is excellent (a bonus with teenagers). The photos do not do this place justice, we would definitely visit again.

Der Empfang war freundlich und das Haus sauber und nett eingerichtet. Wer hier allerdings Luxus erwartet, ist nicht richtig. Die Lage des Hauses ist fernab von jeglicher Zivilisation mitten in den Bergen gelegen und man benötigt mit dem Auto 20 min von Sōller aus nach oben. Die Straße ist schmal und kurvig. Jedoch für einen geübten Autofahrer kein Problem.Am ersten Morgen nach Anreise hatten wir keinen Strom mehr und die Heizung war kalt. Wir teilten das dem Vermieter sofort mit. Dieser gab an, am Mittag den Generator in Ordnung gebracht zu haben. Als wir abends in die Finca zurück kamen, hatten wir jedoch immer noch kein Licht und keine Heizung. Dort oben gibt es keine Lichtquellen, so dass wir auf unsere Smartphones angewiesen waren. Der Vermieter kam dann hoch und stellte den Generator an. Der lief genau 24 Stunden und wieder war alles aus. Nachts ist es in den Bergen um die 5 Grad und im Haus waren es 14 Grad, nachdem wir den Kamin angemacht hatten.Juan war bemüht, hat sich zigmal entschuldigt, machte jedoch einen etwas hilflosen Eindruck auf uns. Als dann am 4. Tag auch noch der Wassertank leer war, sind wir abgereist.Bis jetzt haben wir nur eine einzige Nacht erstattet bekommen. Die Servicegebühr sei auch nicht sein Problem, die habe er ja nicht in Rechnung gestellt, sondern FeWo. Er müsse jetzt für viel Geld für seine Photovoltaikanlage reparieren lassen. Die Kommunikation wurde von seiner Seite aus unsachlich.AbsolulassKommunikaeboten 75% für die 4 Übernachtungen

Ruhe und Erholung in einem Traumhaus mit Pool und tollem Ausblick

Wir haben 1 Woche Ende September hier in diesem wunderschönen Haus verbringen dürfen. Es ist in echt noch viel schöner und größer als auf den Fotos. Juan der Vermieter hat uns in Soller an der Tankstelle abgeholt und zum Haus eskortiert und alles erklärt. Allein hätten wir den Weg sonst nämlich nicht so leicht gefunden. Die Warnungen und Beschreibungen der Straßenverhältnisse sollten wirklich Ernst genommen werden und auch nicht unterschätzt werden. Die letzten Kurven vorm Haus sind ziemlich steil und man muss gut rangieren. Zum Glück hatten wir beim Mietwagenverleih extra nochmal erwähnt, dass wir ein kleines Auto brauchen! Den Einkauf hatten wir schon vorher gemacht und sind somit in dieser Woche nur 2 mal für Ausflüge wieder runter gefahren. Ansonsten ist alles tip top sauber und gut ausgestattet. Matrazen sind weich, die Küche ist groß und bestens ausgestattet, auch mit Gewürzen und allem Nötigen. Die Außenküche wurde erweitert um einen Holzsteinofen und großen Gasgrill, ebenso sollte die Terrasse in den nächsten Jahren ein grünes schattiges Blätterdach bilden, der Ausblick auf das umliegende Tramuntanagebirge und ins Tal auf Soller ist ein Traum, der Pool ist nicht beheizt und sehr erfrischend an heißen Sommertagen. Tipp: Gutes Moskitospray mitnehmen oder Fenster u. Türen so gut es geht geschlossen halten! Verbesserungsvorschlag: Nachttische und Nachttischlampen im oberen Schlafzimmer wären schön, (Deckenlicht zu dunkel zum Lesen) und "Kuscheldecken" fürs Sofa.

Traumhaus hoch oben im Tramuntanagebirge

Die Warnung von Juan vor der Anfahrt zum Haus ist sehr ernst zu nehmen. Man muss sehr gut, sehr enge Serpentinen fahren können inkl. Gegenverkehr, den man vorher nicht sieht und auch als Beifahrer*in starke Nerven haben. In einer der letzten Kurven muss man rangieren, sonst kommt man nicht rum. Je kleiner das Auto umso besser. Juan hat uns abgeholt und zum Haus eskortiert, sonst hätten wir es nicht gefunden. Wir sind in der Woche nur noch einmal runter gefahren und haben Lebensmittel eingekauft. Vom Haus aus können einige Wanderungen gemacht werden, wobei im Schnitt 400 Höhenmeter zu überwinden sind. Es ist eine traumhafte Lage und Kulisse und das Haus einfach genial, wunderschön und bestens ausgestattet. Die Heizung funktioniert super, wobei wir vor allem den Kamin genutzt haben. Sowohl die Innen als auch die Außenküche lassen keine Wünsche offen. Wir waren nur zu zweit da, wobei noch ein Schlafzimmer und zwei Sofa’s für je zwei Erw. da gewesen wären. Die Fotos entsprechen exact den Tatsachen, wobei es in live noch viel schöner ist.

We will be back

Great house, lovely host and absolute gorgeous surroundings. If you want time to yourself with nature, that is your place to go. There are 3 points you have to be aware of. First you really need a small car. We rented this time a Fiat 500 and it went great. Second point is planning your grocery trips. 30 to 40 minutes to the next supermarket in Soller. And third you need a good mosquito repellent. This house is high up on the mountain in the woods. They are everywhere. As are the sheeps who are coming each morning and evening for a friendly visit. The pool is wonderful for refreshing. We will certainly be back for our next couple vacation.

Tolles Haus in den Bergen, abseits Tourismus

Wir haben das Haus in einem sauberen Zustand angetroffen. Der Vermieter hat uns an der Tankstelle im Dorf abgeholt und ist mit uns zum Haus gefahren. Der Weg dorthin ist , wie in der Beschreibung, eng , kurvig, mit vereinzeltem Gegenverkehr. Nix für Angsthasen und grosse Autos. Unser Cupra Formentor ( Privatauto) war gerade noch passend. Im Haus hat es Bettwäsche, Fön, Handtücher, TV, Spül/ Waschmaschine, Gasherd usw. Alles wie im Inserat. Zusätzlich gab es noch viele andere Dinge von Vormietern die man gerne verwenden darf, z.B. Essig, Öl, Gewürze, Waschtabs usw. Vorbildlich. Haben wir so noch nie angetroffen. Die Lage ist abgelegen im Tramuntana , aber es hat trotzdem Nachbarn in der Umgebung. Wir waren überwältigt von der Lage. Freilaufende Schafe und Ziegen jeden Tag. Die Aussenküche ist ein Traum, wir haben Sie täglich genutzt. Der Pool ist klein, aber liebevoll gemacht, wie das gesamte Haus. Es war traumhaft Abends auf der Terrasse, die einen kleinen Sonnenschutz hat, zu sitzen und auf Soller zu schauen. Mir persönlich fehlte ein mobiler Sonnenschirm und die Sitzkissen , für draussen waren etwas dünn. Es ist angebracht seine Einkäufe gut zu planen da der Weg wirklich sehr speziell ist und man für die 3 km ins Tal jedesmal 30-40 min brauchte. Deshalb für die Lage nur 4 Punkte. Wir sind nur alle 2 Tage runter gefahren und jedesmal empfand ich es als Abenteuer !! Wir hatten eine geniale Zeit dort oben in diesem sehr speziellen Haus, werden bei Verfügbarkeit wieder buchen.

Ein wirklich besonderer Ort

Das Haus kann man nicht wirklich beschreiben. Die Lage ist einzigartig (wenn man es einmal bis dort geschafft hat). Dort oben am Berg fühlt man sich wie in einer anderen Welt. Es mangelt wirklich an nichts. Das Haus ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail und großem handwerklichem Geschick gebaut und in einem absolut einwandfreien Zustand. Der Vermieter ist außerordentlich hilfsbereit und eventuelle Fragen werden umgehend beantwortet. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Alles wunderbar... tolles Haus, tolle Lage, coole Anfahrt , schöne Aussicht, super eingerichtete Küche, großer Kühlschrank... Gute Betten, schönes Bad... Alles in allem PERFEKT!!!

Über die Straße wurde bereits alles gesagt - zu erwähnen hier vielleicht : die komplette Anfahrt vom Dorf bis zum wunderschönen Ferienhaus ist super kurvig und eng - mehr als einmal mussten wir erleben, wie andere Touristen Probleme hatten. Mit unserem Fiat Panda gab es keine Probleme. Das Haus belohnt dann allerdings für all die Mühen ! Super Blick, tolles Haus, alles da, was man so braucht ( Gewürze, Pfeffer, Salz, Kaffee, Wasser, Cola, Bier, Wein ...). Joan ist ein super netter Kerl, sehr bemüht und versucht alles, was in seiner Macht steht, damit der Gast sich wohlfühlt - vielen Dank dafür, Joan ! Ach ja : Autan nicht vergessen !!!!!
