The Hobbit House at Fernstone is truly a one of a kind structure, not only in the Laurel Highlands, but beyond! On the outside, you'll appreciate the thoughtful placement among the trees, ferns, and ponds that make Fernstone so special; but when you step foot inside, that is when the magic really begins. In fact, when you aren't exploring the grounds and taking in the natural beauty of the Laurel Highlands, you'll be spending your time trying to figure out the craftsmanship that went into weaving the heavy oak timbers together to form the reciprocal rafter roof structure. And this is a type of construction that is rare indeed! Conveniently inherent in the design, is the opportunity for the stunning clear glass dome over the bed that allows you to gaze at the stars as you drift off to sleep. The property was quaint and remote, and it was exactly what we had hoped it would be. The time we spent was short, but we enjoyed everything from sitting outside out by the pond through the woodworking of the house. I would recommend this to anyone, and especially those who are Lord of the Rings fans!

This cottage/cabin in the woods is adorable and my teen and I loved watching the night sky and the storms through the glass ceiling. The hot tub overlooking the pond was great.

We had a great time at the Hobbit House! Place was clean, tidy, and smelled great! Not sure if this is typical, but firewood was placed in the fire pit ready to be started. Only downside is it was difficult to keep the bugs out.

The Hobbit House was every bit as charming as I hoped it would be. The grounds surrounding were just lovely. Lots of nature oriented things to do. We had a great time. The house is cute property is semi secluded but has 3 other rentals within 200yards. The bed is very uncomfortable we live close so we decided to leave early after only staying one night. Impossible to keep the floor dry if raining but it is stone and doesnt hurt anything other than you can expect to have wet socks or be barefoot.

This was such a perfect place for my husband and I to get away for our anniversary. Check in was easy and the instructions were clear. Very unique and beautiful space. Immaculately clean. However, the heater was extremely loud, keeping me awake most of the night. The substantial outdoor lighting stayed on all night and couldn't be controlled meaning the inside was quite bright and little could be seen out of the very cute roof portal While the property doesn't provide firewood, there was none to be purchased anywhere nearby in the winter, so we couldn't enjoy the fire pit. Overall a unique experience, but a poor night's sleep and a feeling that we probably over paid.

The Hobbit House was great! The WiFi didn’t work very well but not anyone’s fault. The property manager had great communication and answered me via text message promptly. Overall we had a great night and the property was amazing. Also great location to casino.

THE BEST TIME!!!

this was a trip for a friend and I! Just to get away and relax.. unwind! ended up bringing a third at the last minute that was just having a really hard time! we had the best time!! the place is so cute! hot tub was fabulous! the property is just amazing! so beautiful! I live close and this was so worth it! we felt like we were secluded and just had the world to ourselves!! I plan to return! I also plan to stay at other properties owned by the same! all so perfect in their own ways! DO IT!! NO REGRETS! ... it is small.. bring extra bedding/ pillows. we discovered you can see in the shower from the main room! ha!! we laughed so hard!! just hang a towel.. no worries!! definitely gave us another laugh! we didn't get to enjoy the fire pit... but it's awesome! if you want to grill... bring starter! we had no lighter fluid but we made it work! lol free wifi was great! tv... to chill before sleeping... very little... we just wanted to enjoy every moment! really terrific spot!
