Great stay with a friendly and helping host Good alternative to staying in Tekapo where prices are high due to mass tourism without being too far (30 min-ish by car) Comfortable space and beds Great hot shower with strong jet Terrace in the backyard (I was able to easily dry my tent after camping) Free covered parking spot Located 1 street away from a laundromat (with automated machines that already have soap) Excellent Wi-Fi Kitchenette available Overall good bang for your buck

We overnighted here on our way up north. On the good side, it is a very clean and comfortable place to overnight. It is close to town so we were able to walk out and get a wonderful breakfast pie from a local bakery. Our only hiccup was with coming and going. We arrived on the late side and unfortunately ended up waking the office staff up to tell us how to get in. (New Zealand is so safe they just leave the key in the door for you.) We left out on the early side and could not rouse anyone to leave the key with, so we left it as we found it. I think if we knew the drill, so to speak, the office issues would not have been a concern at all. Overall this is a safe, comfortable place and I would stay there again.

Really great spot to stop for a night ... room was super clean, beds were really comfy and location was perfect for walking to one of the many options for a bite. Check in was a bit unusual but easy. Last time we were in NZ, we stayed in Tekapo but it was really expensive this time - I would chose this spot in Fairlie over Tekapo any day. Fairlie Bakehouse pies really do need to be eaten to be belived - awesome!

Very clean and comfortable motel

We were pleasantly surprised staying here. We had 2 rooms, one with a king bed, lounge and dining table, the other with a king bed and single bed. Perfect for our family of 5. The place was very clean and seemed as though it was renovated very recently. The kitchen had cooktop, microwave, oven, small fridge - everything you’d need for a few days away. Parking was in front of the room with an undercover option. Reception is across the road (very clearly signposted) and owner was very lovely and happy for us to leave the key on the table and door unlocked when we left. Would happily stay here again.

I feel like this place was just recently renovated. It was soooo clean, smells good inside the room, they have bed warmer, branded soap and shampoos that smell good as well, heating light in the toilet, and just really well maintaned. Good for the price. Felt instantly comfortable to rest in a room that you know is clean and well maintained.
