treehouse in Downeast Acadia Region of Maine

Set at the edge of the field with views of the Union River, the Poplar is an elevated classic Maine camp with modern comforts.

It sleeps four: a queen bed on the main level and a queen bed in the loft. A wall of windows frames the river, with a hot tub, smokeless fire pit, and 1.5 miles of forest trails just outside. Private and wooded, yet close to Ellsworth and Acadia National Park.

Inside: compact kitchen with induction cooktop, mini-oven, dishwasher, and pour-over coffee with organic Maine-roasted ground coffee; wood stove and heat pump; washer-dryer; desk; fiber internet; smart projector and screen; games. All-cotton Oeko-Tex linens, Public Goods bath products, and a heat lamp over the tiled shower.

Outside: private year-round hot tub, fire pit, propane grill, seating, hammock (April–October), and parking with a J1772-compatible EV charger.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome. Dogs must be leashed outside and stay off furniture and beds; a dog bed is available on request.

The loft is reached by a ship`s ladder and may not suit small children or guests with mobility concerns.

Current rates reflect a discount while Arbor Camp grows; you may occasionally see or hear construction elsewhere on the property.

By booking, you agree to the house rules, including those on pets, damage, and smoking.
HOUSE RULES — ARBOR CAMP
Welcome to Arbor Camp. We’re glad you’re here among the trees.

CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT

Check-in: Any time after 4:00 PM (2:00 by prior arrangement + fee)
Check-out: 10:00 AM

You’ll receive your smart lock code and Wi-Fi details before arrival.

When departing, simply gather your belongings and head out — the door will lock automatically.

*we do not offer late checkout. If you are late checking out by more than 30 minutes, a $50 charge will apply to each hour you remain on the premises.*

PARKING & EV CHARGING
Each cabin includes private parking and an EV charging station for guest use.

HOT TUB GUIDELINES
• Please shower before using the hot tub.
• No glass or breakables in or near the tub.
• Cover the tub when not in use to retain heat and keep out debris.
• Children must be supervised in or around the hot tub at all times.
• Use care when entering and exiting; surfaces may be slippery.

FIREWOOD & FIRE PITS
• Shorter logs are for indoor wood stoves (seasonal use).
• Longer logs are for outdoor fire pits.
• Fire-starting materials and instructions are provided.

You MUST open a window before lighting a fire indoors. A fire extinguisher is located in the kitchen area.

Observe any posted local burn restrictions.

QUIET HOURS
Quiet begins at 10:00 PM to preserve the stillness of the woods and the comfort of all guests.

TOWELS & BEDDING
Extra towels are provided in the bedroom closet.

CHILDREN & FAMILIES
Families are welcome. Please bring your own portable crib or pack-and-play, as we do not provide these due to insurance reasons.

SMOKING
Smoking is permitted outdoors only. Please dispose of materials safely.

Smoking or vaping inside any cabin or treehouse is not permitted.

If indoor smoking or vaping results in odor, residue, or damage, guests are responsible for the actual cost of cleaning, deodorizing, repair, or replacement, plus a 10% administrative fee. If remediation requires the unit to be taken offline, documented lost revenue may also be charged.

PETS
Select units welcome well-behaved dogs. Dogs must be leashed outdoors and may not use beds or upholstered furniture. We are happy to provide a dog bed upon request.

By paying the pet fee(s), you also agree that dogs will not be on beds or upholstered furniture, and that you will not use the shower or bathroom to bathe your dog. If evidence shows a dog has been on beds or furniture or been bathed in the bathroom (including excessive hair, stains, or odor), a $120 additional cleaning fee will be charged. If remediation exceeds $120, guests remain responsible for the documented actual cost.

Dogs must not be left barking in the unit. Sound carries across the property and other cabins. A dog that barks when left alone needs to come along.

KEEP INDOOR THINGS INDOORS
Blankets, pillows, the projector and screen, and indoor furniture are not to be left outside. Weather and wildlife ruin them fast. If you bring something out for the evening, bring it back in before you turn in or head out.

EXTRA CLEANING
Guests are expected to leave the kitchen, grill, cookware, and premises in reasonable condition.

If extraordinary cleaning is required beyond standard turnover — including excessive food waste, heavily soiled cookware, or misuse of the grill — an additional charge of up to $150 may apply. If costs exceed $150, guests are responsible for the documented actual cost.

FIRE SAFETY & EMERGENCIES
A fire extinguisher and first aid kit are provided in each unit.
For emergencies, dial 911 and provide the property address listed in your arrival information.
The cabin is air-conditioned and features a kitchen and 1.5 bathrooms, and there's space to spread out with 2 bedrooms and a dining area. Other standard amenities include a washing machine, a fireplace, and a coffee maker.
