Romantic Hotels in East Side Capistrano, Oceanside

"We loved staying at The Welk! The rooms are HUGE and perfect for our needs. They were clean and well stocked. I requested a room close to a pool and they were able to accommodate that. Everyone was very friendly, all the way down to security. The pools were nice and our kids spent hours and hours at them during our week stay. We paid for a cabana for 2 different days. I'm so glad that when I booked it I was told that we would get a bag with snacks and a pool toy because the next day, we checked into our cabana and the girl didn't give us anything. I mentioned it and she said, oh yeah we don't have the bags right now but here is 2 bags of chips and 2 pops. I mentioned a pool toy and she handed me mermaid diver toys. Then when we got our second cababa 2 days later, we received a bag with not only soda, chips but waters and a beach ball. I was shocked we were supposed to get water too. I mentioned this to the guy what happened 2 days before and he apologize. He also checked on us a couple times during the day, when the first day, nobody checked on us. Two very different experiences with the cabana's. We ate at the main restaurant only once. The food was fine but the wait time to get our food was LONG. We mostly ate in our room. A grocery store and costco are not far. I love the location, only about 35 min from LegoLand, 45 min from San Diego Zoo / Beaches. The grounds are beautiful, it was quite. The beds were comfortable. We didn't particpate in any extra "

"Good location, could walk to the beach, but right next to I5, so prepare for the noise, all doors open to the outside, so the freeway comes right thru the door and window. Breakfast had good options, was always hot and well attended by the staff Pool and Hot Tub looked nice, did not use it. Had an issue with the top of the window sill leaking into the room, making the floor and entry tile all wet. Staff had it repaired, but did not dry carpet or tile, or offer to move us to another room. Not impressed by the service of the GM there."
