The house is amazing! The island is beautiful! Communication with host was excellent. We will definitely be returning hopefully every year. I love that the island is not built up. Loved the history and exploring. The beach was beautiful and peaceful. We loved that it is pet friendly.

This was a lovely place. Beautifully decorated and updated. It was equipped with everything you would need for a great stay. The beds were so comfy, ample seating, and so close to the beach. We would stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay in Daufuskie. The property has a beautiful view of the ocean and is walking distance from the beach. The home has a a king and queen bed in one bedroom and two queens in the other room. The bathrooms have been remodeled and the home was clean. The kitchen is well appointed with everything you need to prepare meals. The outdoor space has a fire pit with Adirondack chairs and an Outdoor table for meals on the porch. The rental has beach chairs for use and a few beach toys. There are also beach towels for use there so you don’t have to pack towels. The rental is a few houses down from the Melrose Oyster club which has a pool, restaurant and store. We love Daufuskie and enjoy coming back year after year. You nearly have the beach to yourself. Great rental and we would stay here again.

Great Location, Great Property

Stayed for a mother/daughter trip. Property was perfect for size and location. We enjoyed walking right out to the beach and relaxing with a view of the ocean in the evenings. Property was clean and well-maintained.

Discovered Dafuskie island

The home was very comfortable and had everything you’d need. I would recommend bringing groceries. Loved the easy walk on the beach and touring the island on golf cart. Thanks for great communication too!

Excellent House with Excellent View!

We absolutely loved our stay, even though we were here during Hurricane Debby! The house is beachfront and the beach was so nice and quiet. A true retreat away from the crowds. The house is well-stocked with everything we needed (even lanterns for when we lost electricity during the hurricane). We enjoyed the restaurants on the island, Sportsman's Pub, Melrose Oyster House and The Old Daufuskie Crab Company. The Freeport General Store has essentials and souvenirs, and is worth a visit. We met many locals and really loved the feel of the island. We will be back!

Great Stay as always

The logistics of getting to a bridge-less island makes getting here a bit more challenging than some other more traditional vacation spots but it is well worth the extra effort. Property manager is super helpful. She answered all our questions, eased our transportation concerns, and helped us make our time very high quality. Love the cottage vibe and can't wait to come back.

1st trip to Daufuskie

The views and access to the beach are spectacular! The home came with a very nice golf cart that became our main means of transportation while on the island. The interior of the home has nicely appointed finishes and the management company was great to deal with. We would definitely rent from JonBie in Melrose again!

Nice place to stay. Beach is about 100 yards from the back door. That’s about as close as you can get in that area. The golf cart travel is awesome. Kids loved swimming in the ocean. We would do it again.

Beach Cottage

We absolutely loved our stay at the beach cottage at Melrose. The cottage is clean and very well furnished, and offers great views of the ocean and Hilton Head Island. The whole D'fuskie Island experience is extremely relaxing. The people are warming and inviting. Everything is a short golf cart drive away.

Fabulous week

This was our first time to Daufuskie Island, and I am so glad we made this trip! It was the most relaxing beach experience we have ever had… And the cottage could not have been more convenient. We will come again! Our only negative is that there are no vegetarian options on the dining out menus… Thankfully, we had packed our meals.

Daukuskie is worth the ferry!

This house was beautifully decorated,equipped and located! From the large screened in porch we were able to see the ocean and watch the thunderstorms in all their glory, to top that the perfect double rainbow! The house came with a golf cart which was a necessity to explore the island. There isn’t a lot of nightlife but the island is better than any other beach location we’ve been. It’s got a charm and private feeling you won’t match. We are already discussing the dates for next year!

Peace at last!

We were first timers to Dafuskie but it surely won’t be our last. The house was EXACTLY as pictured and described. Our hosts were very welcoming and gave us the lay of the land. Plenty of sand toys, beach chairs and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need to cook with. There’s so much to explore on the whole island. The beach was so peaceful and sometimes you’re the only one on it! We only stayed for 4 days but wish we would’ve booked for longer!!

Absolutely Awesome

Great place to stay. Exactly as advertised. Host went above and beyond what anyone could want. Some of our luggage didn’t make it on the ferry, he contacted the ferry company and got it delivered on the next boat. Also, brought us an extra golf cart for our adult kids to drive. Gave us great info about the island. We will definitely be back to the island and will definitely stay here again.
