Additional info: Our internet is generally reliable. I would say it is 98% reliable. Works great for Roku TVs, zoom meetings and everything we’ve tried it for so far. I also, have T-mobile cell phone service and get 5g full signal with no problem throughout the home. I am told Verizon works well also. There is also WIFI calling available via internet, if your phone is capable. The main-level fan remotes are labeled North(Kitchen side) and South(front entry side). TVs will ask you for Guest login, set date of your departure and it will log you out.
The home is on a spring-fed water supply, there is filtered water on the refrigerator door and a brita filter inside the refrigerator. We drink and enjoy the water, it has been tested and it has a clean and pure taste, also makes amazing coffee. That being said, if you have any concerns, please bring your own bottled water for drinking.
The home is on a private road. GPS should take you right to the home's driveway. The road is paved near the bottom and becomes gravel/dirt as it winds up the mountain. Please travel at a safe speed and be prepared if an oncoming vehicle is encountered. There are water breaks across the road, which also act as reminders for maintaining a safe speed. Drive carefully, like you are in your own neighborhood. If it snows, it can get a little tricky. Use your own judgment if you think you need a 4wd/awd. We have driven numerous 2wd(front wheel drive) sedans up and down in all seasons without difficulty, but something with clearance like a Corvette would likely encounter difficulty at the water breaks. Motorcycles are certainly welcome, just be prepared for a gravel/dirt road. I could ride a full dressed touring bike up the road(carefully), just know it might be dusty and/or slick certain times of the year. A dual sport bike is certainly at home on this type of road.
Several of the homes lights are on timers, but the wall switches will override on or off at any time. These are set to light the home in the evening for coming and going. If you prefer them to be off the timer, let me know and I will disable them. There could be bears on the property. I haven’t seen one while I have been there, but it is very possible as we are in the heart of bear country. Do not leave food or food garbage outside unless bagged and in the trash can.
The cottage is air-conditioned and features a kitchen, 2.5 bathrooms, and a patio, and there's space to spread out with 3 bedrooms. Guests can enjoy a Smart TV and stay connected with free WiFi. Other standard amenities include a washing machine, a fireplace, and a coffee maker.

The house was beautiful and well stocked with anything that we could have needed. It was also very well organized. The only suggestion we have is that you not use plug in air fresheners. The scent was overwhelming and caused several of us to have allergy problems. Once we discovered the source of the strong perfume smell, we unplugged them and it was a lot better.

"Our Mountain Home" stay
This mountain home was the most beautiful home and setting, with so many convenient little things about it. The views from every window were magnificent. We've owned a VRBO in Myrtle Beach and have stayed in numerous VRBO through the years. This house is the #1 ever. Thank you so much!

The most thoughtful hosts
I have stayed at a lot of rental properties over the years and this home by far had the most thoughtful touches of any place we’ve ever stayed. From the bathroom and kitchen supplies (ie shampoos, extra toothbrushes/toothpaste, toilet paper, paper towels, coffee pods, creamers, welcome snacks), etc. I could go on and on. The hosts go above and beyond. We have a child at WCU and the property is a quick 5 minutes from campus. Super convenient! The house is beautiful and the views are awesome. Heads up that the road to get to the house is a little scary and would definitely need all wheel drive in the winter. My only gripe is that the basement was freezing, but there is a portable fireplace that helped with the heat. Overall, I would highly recommend and look forward to being a repeat renter.

Awesome Place to Stay
It’s a great house with beautiful views. Lots of space and very well maintained. What really stood out was the extra effort put into making sure everything you could need was already there. We’ve stayed at many properties over the years. None have ever gone above and beyond like this one. Bed were very comfortable. We had a wonderful stay 10/10Thanks again for sharing this beautiful property!

Gorgeous mountain home near WCU
The owner is great with communication. Once you are able to arrive at this beautifully remodeled three story home. The property is really clean and the overall amenities are well thought of from upgraded bedding to bathroom extras.
Our family was in awe of the views of the mountains on the upper extensive upper deck. The biggest challenge is navigating the 4 minutes uphill and off road to the vacation home that needs some maneuvering. However, once you arrive it understandable that this property gets a 10 out of 10 from many other previous rentals.

A fantastic mountain get-away!
We thoroughly enjoyed this mountain retreat! It provided plenty of room to gather with our adult children and their spouses for a couple of days, and then provided a quiet retreat for the two of us for the rest of the week. The host was very responsive to our needs. Highly recommended!

Wedding Weekend
My family came for a wedding at Castle Ladyhawke. I brought my 86 year old mother who has dementia and the house was comfortable for her. Downstairs was perfect for my son and his family while upstairs was perfect for another son and grandson. When we arrived the house was warm and welcoming and for that I’m incredibly grateful. It was cold and rainy and momma was freezing. To walk into a warm home was extra special.

Great weekend Visit for my daughter to tour Western Carolina University
My wife, daughter and mother in law enjoyed this fabulous house located very close to WCU. My daughter will be attending school there starting fall semester. Although I was unable to make the trip with them, they were amazed by the beauty of their surroundings and the home itself. My wife told me there was nothing not thought of with the house furnishings. The beds were comfortable and the host Beau was very responsive anytime we had questions or information. My family thoroughly enjoyed their stay and we would love to stay again when we visit Maggie at WCU.

Mtn top Cabin with details!
We loved this cabin and all the thoughtful details Beau provided! Most rentals look good in online photos but this place exceeded our expectations. We enjoy cooking most of our meals and this was the best equipped kitchen I’ve encountered. The knives were sharp, pots and pans seemed new, a full spice drawer and condiments in the refrigerator (I brought my own but nice to have backup if you forgot something). My college age kids were all over the snacks and trying out unusual tea selections. The views are wonderful, the porch furniture is decorated with cute pillows and blankets, the interior is comfortable with nice artwork. The fire pit was nice. I will say if you want mountain top views, you have to be willing to take a deep breath to navigate the steep driveway. It’s totally doable but the more timid drivers in our family let others take the wheel. We were in town for graduation and I wish we had found this cabin earlier. Much better than any of the hotels in the area. Thank you Beau for being a great host and sharing your cabin!
