"The reason we chose this unit is because the listing stated it was 15 minutes from Mammoth Cave National Park. This is not true. It is an hour drive to get to the visitors center, which you have no way of knowing until getting the address right before check in. The park property lines may be close, but the unit is on the opposite side of the parks entrance. This property is more spacious than I expected and VERY well cleaned. The chalkboard was cute and the bathroom had updated fixtures. The kitchen had enough for us to fix some quick meals. The AC is all window units but stayed sufficiently cool for our stay in May. However, I did not realize that another property owned by the renter was literally connected to this property by a set of outdoor stairs. It was very awkward to try to enjoy time outside with someone checked in beside us. The properties are side by side, including the outside areas with firepits. We had two kids and expected to be able to relax and let them be kids but it felt wrong to let them play as we were so close and didn’t want to disturb the neighbors. The unit itself had some strange flaws that were just uncomfortable (some of the doors didn’t open without being stuck on the floors due to bowing, the living room TV had no volume control and stayed on full blast, there was exposed plywood in a few areas)."
