Quite run down and in need to and upgrade. Very noisy all night and early in the morning. Not particularly clean. Staff were polite. Arrived back from an event at 11pm and were told we couldn’t get a drink in the bar as they weren’t serving.

Smelly room and terrible breakfast

We were greeted by a building site that hadn't been notified to us on our booking. If we left our room window open it filled with smoke but if we closed it it was too hot. Breakfast, I nearly broke my teeth on the burnt bacon, i couldn't get the sausage out of the serving tray, it was stock to the bottom and everything (especially the hash browns) were swimming in oil. We were allowed in our room early and the room wax quite large which took this tired hotel from 1 to 2 on my review score.

It's ok...

A bit tired, spa only available to residents at additional cost though pool is free. Breakfast - for me - is akin to motorway services with few healthy options. 'Orange juice' was very weak orange squash. Dinner menu was ok and not outrageously priced. Overall disappointed - felt like a decent hotel that was suffering and therefore penny-pinching now.

Very beautiful grounds, easy and lots of parking. Public areas very nice, rooms tired!! Definitely need refurbishing. Food nice and lots of choice of drink. Breakfast nice enough. The staff are incredibly lovely, helpful and always smiling, they are a massive asset to this hotel!!
