This place is impeccable. In spite of it being in an historic building it has been lovingly maintained. Our triple room had an enormous bedroom with twin sinks. The beds were in separate rooms and there were original paintings on the walls. Breakfast was very good. Stay there if you’re in the area.

Hotel is really quaint and done within several very old buildings - as best as possible. Decent accommodations, with the givens of walking up and down numerous stairs, dark hallways, etc. Personnel there ranges from: exceptionally sweet young woman - who carried our heavy suitcases up two steep stairs (no elevator) - to a very unfriendly male. Requests like - making a call on our behalf to a beauty salon - were met with dismay (by the male). The breakfast area could be easily mistaken for a US Best Western hotel. Impersonal. Food as well. The only thing - that was really cool - was the giant mural with the Rabelais character - Gargantua (the gourmand). All in all it is an OK place with strategic location within the downtown.

It was hard to find the Hotel and even staff who worked near the Hotel didn't know where it was situated. You need better signs on the street to show the entrance.

great location in the heart of the old town just under the chateaux. Close to bars and restaurants. The room we stayed in had windows out onto a corridor which was rather strange but as we were only staying for 1 night it was acceptable

Very comfortable hotel.

Very clean comfortable hotel...out side sitting area on first floor with loungers. Hotel is right in the main square with many restaurants to choose from. Breakfast is self service and has many choices.

Nice little hotel......Good value for the money...

They gave us a nice room on the second floor looking right out over the city square....The windows in the hotel are double paned, so even at night it was nice and quiet in the room....We could look right up and see the citadel of CHINON....There are many nice restaurants and cafes in the area.. Also, there is LaveMatique about three blocks away which we used to wash some clothes since we were staying in FRANCE for over three weeks....

Wonderful location on the square. The common areas are beautifully decorated to match the age of the building while the rooms have all the modern conveniences. The breakfast buffet is great.

Nicely situated. Great shower and a nice breakfast. The room was very large - it had 3 chairs and a table. The largest room on our trip. It was very clean. The staff were very helpful. There are a large number of restraints very close — essentially out the front of the hotel in the square. Nevertheless our room was very quiet.
