Wonderful villa in the Marche countryside

The villa and the grounds are wonderful, and the views are enchanting. We had a great time at Villa Staffieri as a multi-generational family of 8. Clearly a lot of thought and love has gone into the house. The village is an easy walking distance and it has a grocery store, cafe, a park with a plauground. The local pizzeria was unfortunately close while we were there, but it's set to re-open in August. There are several restaurants and pizzerias, as well as supermarkets, within short driving distance. Simon has been very responsive throughout and a few minor issues have been resolved in a very timely manner. Overall highly recommended!

Excellent stay

Overall we enjoyed our stay and the host did everything to make our stay enjoyable. However, there are a few issues that people should be aware of. The pool and access to it are not suitable for young children. The path and the surrounding area of the pool need some work! Also the large fridge was not working and the oven needs replacing. The village is quiet and friendly but offers little beyond a convenience store. There is no restaurant within walking distance. In conclusion I feel the property was overpriced considering lack of local facilities and conditions.

Lovely villa in a fantastic location

Weโ€™ve just had a lovely 2 weeks at this villa - we were a group of 7 and it felt spacious with room to spare. Communication with the owner prior to and during the stay was fantastic - nothing was too much trouble. The information pack in the villa contained lots of helpful information and ideas for day trips etc. The villa was clean and well equipped - the pool table was a big hit!! There were also lots of board games, DVDs and books, although we spent most of our time outside enjoying the various seating areas dotted around the garden. The pool is absolutely fantastic, bigger than your average private pool, with lots of poolside seating and the most beautiful views. Castelplanio is a lovely hilltop village with local shop and pizzerias. We would thoroughly recommend as a base from which to explore this region of Italy.

Superb Italian stay

We spent two weeks at Villa Staffieri as a group of two families (with kids aged 8 and 6). The house and and the view are just spectacular and so restorative. We spent most days playing in the lovely pool and enjoying the bakery, cafe and amazing pizzeria up the hill in the village. Simon could not have been more helpful with great tips for the drive, running routes whilst we were there and brilliant recommendations for days out. We just had the best time. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful house with us. We hope to come back one day.

Simply The Best

This review wonโ€™t be long enough to really express how amazing our stay was. Firstly Simon (the Villa owner) absolutely made our holiday. His communication from the start was brilliant, timely and very informative. When we were there he helped us with his local knowledge and was always willing to assist which really helped make us the most of our trip. The Villa is fantastic with so much outdoor space and in the middle of no where and views to die for!! There was 8 of us and the Villa had ample room for us all inside as well. The location is brilliant but you do need a car to explore the area or some good walking shoes!! The local restaurants are very traditional and offer excellent value and lovely food. Make sure you go to the bakery in the village as it is lovely and became our morning ritual! Overall this Villa is fantastic and we will go back! But the best part is Simon and how well he looks after you and ensures you have a great stay, he really does care and goes above and beyond like no other owner we have ever dealt with. Donโ€™t hesitate, book!!!

Wonderful villa with great view and pool!

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Staffieri. The house was very comfortable for two families (4 adults & 4 children). The outdoor space was great with a beautiful view! Lovely seating areas to enjoy meals and relax with great company. The pool was awesome; great size and enjoyed by all! The check-in and check-out process was quick and easy. Rosa is very friendly and was quick to reply to our text messages. Simon was also very prompt at responding to any of our messages. We all really enjoyed our stay!!!

Wonderful family holiday

The property was tranquil and really well appointed. Fully stocked with everything you could ever need and more. Pool, location and view were to die for. The photos are great but do not do it justice. Local pizza restaurant is perfect for little ones. You will not regret staying here. One word of warning - the local area does have a lot of mosquitoes, so bring spray!

Beautiful villa, beautiful location

We had a fantastic stay. Simon was very helpful before we arrived, as was Rosa in meeting us on the day, and with food. The house/gardens/pool were clean, spacious and if anything even better than the photos. The beds are comfy, showers great, kitchen incredibly well-equipped. Castelplanio itself is a lovely village with a bakery and pizzeria within five minutes' walk of the villa, yet it feels completely quiet and feels 'off road'. We searched for a while for somewhere like this and it completely lived up to billing. Hard to ask for anything more - pretty much perfect. Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful property and stunning location

We recently returned from a 2 week family holiday. The property is very comfortable, well appointed and equipped. Simon, the owner, responded very promptly to all queries during the booking process. The property, from the pool, overlooks rolling hills with views of vineyards and a hill top village - the views are stunning. The surrounding area is beautiful and largely undiscovered by foreign tourists (even in August) despite the fact there is lots to do for children and adults alike. We would highly recommend.

Great house, great location, very relaxing place to stay.

We were a group of 4 couples, so the layout of the house was perfect for us. The pool is a great size and good depth throughout. The house had pretty much everything we needed for eating in with a well equipped kitchen and a good sized barbecue. The views from the pool area are stunning, looking across a valley to hilltop villages. There is an excellent pizzeria just up the hill and supermarkets nearby. There are other good restaurants within a short drive of the house. All in all a beautiful and relaxing place to stay. For the wine lovers there is a lovely vineyard just down the hill from the house.

Lovely well equipped villa. Fabulous pool with a view.

Arrived very late but were still met at the Villa and given a quick tour. Useful welcome pack with cold drinks. Villa has lots of good books and games around. Problem with Sky, but large DVD collection. Accommodation of a high standard but also homely, with well equipped kitchen. Visited the pizzeria twice - great and quick service. Useful notes provided about supermarkets etc nearby. Simon was very responsive and helpful.

Beautiful, tranquil escape in the country but with local facilities nearby

Simon's villa has been beautifully designed and we loved the bedrooms which each have an individual en-suite - useful when you are a large family party as we were! The games room and DVD library went down well with our teens/twentys, and the pool is in a beautiful position with sweeping views. The villa is very quiet and tranquil, however we liked the fact you could walk to a bar, pizzeria and shops were close by. We loved the fact that this is a really untouristy area and we really felt we were getting the authentic Italian experience! The villa was also really well equipped and we did cook there a few times during our stay. Overall, a high quality villa with everything you will need in a fantastic area with lots to explore nearby.

Faboulous property, great location

Greatly enjoyed our two weeks at this property. Four bedrooms each with its own en suite bathroom a real bonus. Well appointed kitchen, two fridges and a wine bar. Never got tired of the views. Owner very responsive to queries and feedback. As a cyclist loved the terrain, endless climbs and descents with stunning views at literally every turn.

Idyllic

We had a perfect week in June with our three sons. The villa is spacious and has everything one could need. The pool is large and the view down the valley to die for. The peeling of the church bells and fire flies at night were very special. We ventured to the beach at Senigallia and visited the Grotte di Frasassi. The Grotte was particularly impressive and only a 20 minute drive away. The local pizzeria, a short walk, was visited three times. Thankfully it is down hill coming back. I would love to come back.

we had a great week here. As two couples with two toddlers we really valued the large bedrooms each with ensuite. The kitchen was very well equipped making meals in a delight. The welcome back was particularly nice after the early start in the UK. There is lots of outside space, and the view is to die for. The pool was great for us but by September a little chilly for the toddlers. The village is a lovely stroll with two play areas, pizzeria, shop and bakery (open daily). Of note the garden has some steep slopes, easily avoided but tempting for little ones. Simon, the owner, was very helpful and easy to contact meaning we arrived confident we would have all we needed.

A gem of a villa in a beautiful setting!

Villa Staffieri is an outstanding conversion of a very old building. It has lovely garden grounds, pool and loggia where we ate so many of our meals looking out at the wonderful views over to the mountains. I would have given the house five stars but we were very disappointed that the pizza oven, described as 'fully restored' was in fact broken and I don't know if there are plans to repair it. It was on our must have list for this holiday so that was quite annoying. However, the house is very well equipped and the owners clearly care that their guests enjoy their holiday. The bathrooms are lovely and the ceiling fans in the bedrooms were very welcome when the temperatures went into the 30s! Also welcome were the fly screens on the windows which kept out unwelcome pests! The pool and gardens were well-tended and my only sadness there was that the the figs on the enormous fig tree weren't quite ripe! Our one year old grandson loved wandering around the terrace picking up stone chips but the grounds would be a great place to play for older children. My favourite time though was the evening. Sitting at the loggia with the barbecue going and drinking Prosecco and then when it got dark, the fireflies came out in their thousands. What a magical light show., Castelplanio itself is a lovely village and the people were very friendly. The staff in the pizza restaurant were very welcoming and the pizza was great (as were the prices!). The best thing about the village though is the bakery. My husband walked up the little hill every morning, had a coffee in the bar and then came home with fresh warm bread and the best doughnuts we've ever tasted! Nice neighbours too. One kind man came out and offered us a brolly as we were wandering home in the rain! We sampled a fair bit of Verdicchio too and bought mainly from Tenuto dell'Ugolino which was just down the hill. The owner was very friendly and very interested to talk about the referendum! The best meal we had was Sunday lunch at Croce del Moro. Five courses plus wine and liqueurs for โ‚ฌ25 and no charge for the little one! The quality was so good, I'm running out of superlatives! We've visited the Marche before so hadn't planned to go out and about too much but we were glad we'd listened to the advice of other guests and visited the Frasassi Caves. They were amazing and the tour guide was so interesting. We celebrated our Ruby Wedding at the villa and it was every bit as special as we'd hoped it would be.

Le site est incroyable, dans la partie haute du village de Castelplanio, la vue splendide, faรงon carte postale, la maison a beaucoup de cachet et a รฉtรฉ rรฉnovรฉe avec gout et un grand souci des finitions, l'endroit est calme, protรฉgรฉ, arborรฉ, juste parfait... et que dire de la piscine, grande, propre, idรฉale pour se rafraichir, faire des longueurs ou jouer au water-volley en famille. On y a passรฉ une semaine en famille, 9 personnes au total, c'รฉtait juste fantastique ! Simon a รฉtรฉ trรจs clair dans ses explications, et trรจs rรฉactif en cas de question, nous reviendrons trรจs certainement un jour ร  la Villa Staffieri.

Absolutely beautiful location

The location is really beautiful. The house is clean and has everything you need for your vacation there. The rooms all have an own bathroom which are modernist and where you feel totally comfortable with. In case of rain you even have a billiard table to have some fun till the sun comes back again. There are several sitting areas for having dinner with a stunning view. We absolutely loved it and can give a 100% recommendation for this 5๐ŸŒŸ accommodation

Fantastic location of house with view over the area

We had a great holiday in the villa and specifically enjoyed the garden, pool and location on top of a hill. Small grocery in 5 min drive. Although 40 min drive to Ancona / the coast, the location for us was nothing less than fabulous. Visited several wineries in the neighbourhood as well as a olive oil maker. Contact with owner is very prompt and smooth; check-in and check-out effortless.

Beautiful home with amazing view

We loved our stay in this beautiful home! The garden is large with a lovely pool and amazing view. For our dog it was great to explore the garden and also the close by walk path. We liked the difference terraces to enjoy the peaceful surroundings and nature. Small minor was the lack of shade for us. But otherwise perfect. And the contact with Simon was great. He helped us with beds and chairs for our 3 babyโ€™s (triplets), we were really happy with his efforts on short notice to arrange all of this! We would love to come back.

Great stay in Marche

We stayed in the Villa Staffieri with our family, 8 persons and one dog. We had a fabulous time, the pool has a great size, you can really go for a swim. The garden has lots of nice places to sit and relax. The house is good equipped and the rooms are beautiful, every room with its own bath. The view from the terrace and the pool is stunning.
