Nice central hotel, parking not great.

The hotel is very nice, comfortable rooms, good breakfast and great location right near the main pedestrian area and an easy walk to all of the sights. The first room we were given was directly opposite the lift and we could here the constant whirring of the lift going up and down, door opening and closing, and people coming and going. We were staying for three nights so asked to move the next day and that was not a problem, we had a nice quiet room for the next two nights. The hotel has an underground car park which has an entrance around the corner. It is very tight for space. Larger cars seemed to get preference for spaces near the entrance. Because we had a small car we were directed through a very narrow gap between columns to a space where only small cars could fit. We left the car there the whole stay. On leaving it took all of my skill and patience to extract the car from the space without damaging it (it was a rental car). Virtually no room to turn in, and passing by columns with mirrors folded in and a couple of inches clearance each side. Not a great experience, and it cost 15 euros a night. Otherwise Cartegena is a lovely clean place with loads of Roman and Moorish ruins and a really interesting history. Worth a visit!

Convenient to places of interest

This is a good hotel and situated just off the pedestrian shopping area and close to the places of interest. I have stayed here before and would recommend it. Parking is available but limited (and small) spaces but there are plenty of public car parks 5 minutes walk away. If you have breakfast it is basic but fresh.

Comfortable, professional hotel

Comfortable hotel. Very convenient to walk into the city and to other attractions. Excellent breakfasts - best we have had in Spain so far. Friendly, efficient staff. Underground, secure parking nearby at €15 per day. We will definitely stay again next year.

Rather disappointing hotel but clean

A bit disappointed with this hotel. The room was clean but the bed was hard and rather uncomfortable. Sauna and bar were both closed. Air con didn't work properly and was too hot to sleep so we called someone to come and have a look if it could be fixed and the guy wouldn't even come into the room to see what it was like. Ended up with us having to ask to switch rooms as he didn't come up with any other solution. Area is nice though and the other girl on reception was dry friendly.

FOUR-STAR ACCOMODATIONS

Three-night stay. Four-star hotel with everything as described in advertising. Just a bit away from the heart of the tourist district which is a good thing. You still get street noise, but it is more atmospheric than annoying. Very good gym facility, but it was closed on Sunday. Regardless of the reason and despite the continuing Sunday closures of everything throughout Spain, guests who exercise also exercise on Sunday. An "international" hotel should think about accommodating their international clientele.

Hotel Cartagonova

The Hotel is very Central to the Town and only a short walk from all the Historic sites in Cartagena. There was no bar facilities available during our stay but that wasn't a problem for us. The Spa facilities were excellent and the breakfast was reasonably good but the hot food was not great.

We enjoyed the overnight stay at this hotel, very pleasant receptionist but breakfast waitress was very slow in replenishing the table. The hotel & room was very clean& comfortable but if it had been very hot the air conditioning was not very efficient.

Hotel Cartagonova

Comfortable Clean Hotel in an ideal place to visit Cartagena's Attractions. Is minutes walk to the port and it's shops and bars. Parking at hotel although not the cheapest we felt was worth it and is secure. Only thing that let's it down is the bar opposite that closes at 6am on Sunday Morning! So a good nights sleep on Saturday night is virtually impossible! Would I stay again? Possibly but not on a Saturday night!

First impression is not good. Hotel looks older than the photos. Room is recently renovated, still barely acceptable. Air conditioning is weak. Surprisingly, the room has no quilt except a thin sheet for covering.

Centrally located modern hotel

Booked this the night before we arrived and were not disappointed. A modern, centrally located hotel with a fab fitness facility. There is a car park next to the hotel at a cost of 15 euros per day but it is secure.
