This is one of the most horrible stat I ever have. First of all, their picture on the hotel.com website is very misleading. It makes people believe they have a private access to lake bank or at least walking distance to lake. No it doesn’t, the closest lake access is more than 30 mins by walking. The picture post is probably some other people’s place. I am so disappointed as that was the major reason why I booked this place. 2nd, this place is so old, and many places need maintenances. Especially the heating system, when you turn it on, lots of dust in the room, and also in the night, you can hear it so noisy all the time, the system keeps making noises. Last but not least, we booked 2 nights, but I have to cancel one night due to national weather advisory, no kidding there was 5 weather alerts, snow storm, avalanche, rain, icy road and winter cold, so for the safety considerations, we decided to head to home 1 night earlier. But even with all 5 weather alerts, this owner decided priorize profit instead of customer’s safety, and still refused to refund me the fund. And guess how much they charge under the horrible weather? It is very expensive! Yeah, don’t get fooled by their lower night rate, they will charge super high property fee on top of the night rate.

Overall this is a nice classic A frame at a very reasonable rate for Lake Tahoe. It’s dated, but clean and comfortable. There were a few maintenance issues that we alerted the property manager to when we checked out and hopefully they are addressed. (Non stick pots and pans are old and pealing, upstairs toilet would continuously run if not fiddled with and one of the furnaces seemed to be acting up)

Moose Cabin at Carnelian Bay.
Moose cabin is a great place to stay, very clean and comfortable.
The access was easy and the lo ation was perfect for us.
We appreciated the attention to detail.
Our stay was excellent.
We will definitely come back.
We had a wonderful stay! There was everything we needed and more available to us. From the basic necessities to quite a few extras we would have normally had to purchase. The communication was impeccable and I would definitely book again!

Overall, it was okay. I would not stay here again. It's on a busy road, and not as close to the lake as I had hoped - you can not see the lake from the house.
Upon arrival, the house was very stuffy and had a smell. The carpets are due to be cleaned. You can't air out the house well, as the front door is not screened, and the back door's screen has no lock - it's secured with a rubber band. There are a couple of ceiling fans and box fans - covered with dust. Dirty fingerprint/handprints covered the light switches (I cleaned them), and the stair railing was sticky. Beds were uncomfortable, and no one slept well. The main level bathroom was decent, but there was still hair and lint on the floor and towels. The walls needed a good wipe down also. The main level shower did not drain well the first night, but it was fixed the next day, so I was thankful for that.
This is the first time I've rented a house instead of hotel, so maybe my expectations were too high. I just felt for the overall price of everything, it would have been cleaner. I realize it's an older, smaller cabin, but that's no excuse for all the dust/dirt.
The location was good, close drive to trails, shopping and local restaurants. There is also a big chain grocery store a few miles away.
Overall good property to stay. Everything was great. Only cons would beMe beef ng 6.1 the shower head was a little low. The other con is that we went in June and noticed the down stairs gets a little stuffy. We recommend bring a fan. Other then that it was great
We are homeowners In Kings Beach, an easy 12 minute drive away. We were at Lake Tahoe for a family gathering and our cabin could not hold 35 people so we needed to rent a cabin for the weekend. The Moose Lodge could t have been more ideal! Its charming quaint ambience is inviting and perfect for a family or 2 couples ! We will certainly be coming back! Pictures are true to the property! Also the neighborhood is very safe and quiet. Even tho it is off the main road around the lake, the backyard opens up to a side road with lovely cabins and an east walk with the dogs! Everything was ideal. oh! And the front deck and BBQ grill was a great way to enjoy the beautiful evenings as well! Can’t say enough about Moose Lodge! Enjoy our beautiful Lake Tahoe and certainly know you are in good hands with this rental! Affordable and easy to book!

Great location, right off the main road with easy access parking, perfect to unload. The property looked clean and well kept. We just noticed a small leak in the lower bathroom but I messaged the staff and they responded to my concern right away. I liked that is close to everything and yet remains on its ows private space. I personaly loved the firefighters details inside the house and the cozy fireplace. I would recommend the place and most likely rent it again
This morbid place isn't just the filthiest vacation rentals I've ever come accross, but also by far is the dirtiest house I've ever seen.
You get hit with the wall of nauseating smells the second you open the door: smoke, cat piss and everything else the filthiest 60 year old carpet has accumulated.
The furniture is so old and dirty, i couldn't make myself to touch anything, or even st down. Slept curled up in my own blanket.
I took a picture of the kitchen utensils drawer. Imagine what the rest of this God awful place is like, if the kitchen is this nasty.
Truly shocking experience.
I have filed a dispute against shameless people that run this horror of a vacation rental.
