Maybe turn on the main gas line so the next guest doesn’t have to figure out that’s why the water heater and pool heater doesn’t work. Shouldn’t have to troubleshoot day one of the stay.

We were very disappointed with the condition of this rental. We expected an upscale property to be clean and this was certainly not the case. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by a wasp nest on the front gate. Walking in the front door there was yard debris and cobwebs on/under the entry table. The kitchen was beyond filthy! Dirty dishes and glassware were in the cabinets, most of the glassware was stuck to the cabinet shelf. The cabinets were sticky and covered in grime and caked on food spills that clearly had not been wiped off in a very long time. The countertops were greasy with dead bugs along the backsplash of every counter and the range hood and backsplash wall were also covered in grease and dead bugs. The ice maker and refrigerator had noticeable mold. The cabinet that houses the trash cans in the kitchen was very smelly and damp. We elected to remove the trash can to keep from having to be exposed to whatever is growing in that cabinet. The outdoor areas had clearly not been attended to in a long time as well. The windows were filthy with tons of dead bugs, the patio furniture and tables were dirty and covered in webs, debris and dead bugs. The house provided a single 2x3” sponge and a dish brush, no dish cloth. I do have supporting pictures of every single issue listed and will forward them to the property mgmt. its a shame that it is so filthy as it is a nice house.

Overall, the house was very nice with a great pool and beautiful lakefront location — perfect for relaxing and enjoying the outdoors. However, there were a few issues that affected our stay. The oven wasn’t working, the house wasn't thoroughly cleaned upon arrival, and the kitchen was missing some basic necessities that would have made meal prep easier.On a positive note, the property management company was very responsive and helpful in addressing concerns quickly. With a bit more attention to detail in cleaning and amenities, this home could easily be a five-star rental.

The dates we stayed were 9/1-9/4/25. Beautiful space to relax and chill. The home was beautiful and the backyard was awesome! We enjoyed the pool and the use of the floaties. Never got the spa jets to come on so we didn’t end up using that. We didn’t use the lake but enjoyed the sunsets. Someone else had checked out the morning we arrived and the cleaning left much to be desired. The cleaning people did what looked like a fast job and missed SEVERAL things, which I brought to the Property manager's attention. This was our only disappointment. For the amount we paid, and what you’re charged for cleaning, I expected much better! I would definitely stay there again if I needed to be back in that area, and I would hope that the cleaning staff have been notified of their shortcomings.

The house is beautifully designed with alot of space to relax and enjoy the lake. You have to walk to the back of the property to get a view of the lake. When you do it is a lovely view. The pool lights don't work and there are no lights near patio area by the pool. As beautiful as the home the home needs a deep clean interior and exterior. We had planned on to stay for the weekend to cook at the house. The pots and pans are really old, no blender, the grill is really old (no cleaning supplies to clean grill) we had to go to Dollar General to buy. They were really good about responding to any issues we had right away. Im hoping that they do improve on these changes we would love to return and give them another chance.

Beautiful house but has a few issues

This home is gorgeous and has many wonderful features. We might consider coming back in the future, however, we had a few issues that the owner should address. Some of the beds were terrible. I think they were the kind that have air in them and some were over inflated and some were under inflated. If the controllers for those beds had been available, we could have fixed that ourselves. Another issue was the oven/stove. There needs to be instructions on how to turn on the oven, it was very difficult to get to turn on. Also, some of the burners on the stove did not work. Also, the outside grill was horrible. We really didn't mind the fact that it was not gas, We brought charcoal. But it is very old and greasy and needs to be replaced. A major issue was the fact that the steps outside were very steep and narrow. Handrails would help this issue. Also, the steps in the pool were extremely steep and narrow. In fact, one of our party fell getting out of the pool and has a rib injury. She fell because the steps were EXTREMELY steep, If there had been handrails, she probably would not have fallen. The yard guy came our first full day and took all morning doing the yard. He did a marvelous job but we felt it would have been so much better if he had been scheduled between guests. We did have a great time in spite of these issues. We just felt that the owner should be made aware of these issues so that they can be corrected.

Relaxing visit

The house was comfortable stay for a family getaway. We enjoyed the hot tub. Our 2yr old enjoyed the toys & books available. There is keurig available and most kitchen appliances. Bring your own shower gel, shampoo/conditioner. The “fire pit” does not include the fire pit pictured by the pool. It is not working. It only includes the wood fire pit, but there is a fire ban. There are signs in the house to not use the fireplace in the house although the listing advertises the fireplaces. There is a house being built immediately beside the property so expect construction noises early in the morning and all day as well as construction workers working at heights overlooking the pool area, The group we contacted were not at all empathetic to any of these disappointments.

Great place

Even though the lake is low, this is a great place. It was only nice one day so we only used the pool that day. Plenty of room for all of us. We had a little trouble getting the Television to work. But once we figured it out all was good. Nice quiet place.

Beautiful location but many issues with the house

PROS: Large house, huge fire pit, nice pool, gorgeous sunsets, comfortable beds (but very soft).CONS: 1) Bedroom #4 has no closet and you have to go through the den and kitchen to get to the bathroom by the garage door. 2) That bathroom did not maintain constant water temperature...it would be hot and then switch to cold for several minutes. Water would leak out of the shower, onto the bathroom floor. 3) The cleaning service was not up to par. There was grease on the backsplash of the stove, hair and a dead insect in the master bath, hair balls in the front bedroom and dog hair visible in many places. 4) The door handle to the back patio fell off so we had to go through the garage to get to the back patio. 5) The towel rack in the front bathroom was missing. 6) The towel rack in the master bath was about to fall off of the wall. 7) Remotes for outdoor TVs were missing. 8) There was a note that said we could not use the indoor fireplace, which was a bummer. () The water in the lake was SUPER low so we couldn't fish or use the kayaks. All of the issues were reported to the property management company and they responded pretty quickly. They told us that they would send someone out the next day, but they never came. When you pay a hefty price for a really nice house, you expect for things to be in working order, and if they aren't, that they will be fixed. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. All of that said, we made it work and had a nice time.

Relaxing staycation

We came to spend time with our son who is a firefighter. We wanted some relaxing down time since we all work long days and long hours. The house was perfect. We enjoyed the hot tub, the pool, bbq’ing. The beds were so comfortable.we all had a relaxing vaccation. We would go back there again!

Tres A at Canyon Lake

Very nice home and property. Had excellent weather and were able to enjoy spa in November. Kitchen fairly well stocked, typical of a B&B rental. We did not attempt to use pool fire pit, sign said not working. I did ask owner prior & they said it was working so not sure. Lake level fairly low so was very rocky & a bit treacherous to get all the way down to water. Too difficult to carry & put kayaks in water directly from property. So if we wanted to kayak, we would have to load kayaks in our vehicle & go to different area of lake (not sure where) to enter water. (bring your own life jackets) It would be nice to have more info on this. Also, check out is 11, saw somehere else where it said 10. Landscaping is gorgeous, very well maintained. Cleaning crew needs to do better job sweeping under beds and in corners, not major though. Rest was clean. Beautiful home, very unique property. We would like to return at some point. We did not have pets but pet policy was inconsistent. Said pets ok on VRBO and then I saw something else that did not allow pets. There is fenced in area for pets all around first portion that goes around immediate backyard & pool. There is pet door, not sure if works. Then, there is gate to extended yard area to go down to lake that is not all fenced. Front yard not all fenced.

Family Lake Vacation

It is a beautiful home and many amenities! It was disappointing the pool was not clean the day we arrived, mgmt had someone there by the evening to clean. Our grandkids were very sad so we lost a day. The hot tub was not working also. The lake was extremely low so couldn't kayak or go boating. The pavillon was nice to enjoy in the evenings, overall we enjoyed our stay, the trip went by way too fast!!!

Nice but over priced

Mattresses are truly awful! No propane grill. No swing. Kitchen was not fully stocked with the basics for cooking. Have to add some many apps to run the things - much prefer an actual switch. Instructions to use oven not legible and not sure the broil function works. Bring extra towels not enough in each bathroom for longer than a day. Pool and hot tub was nice but never could figure out how to get the blower to work.

Week of family memories made!

Our family absolutely loved our stay at your vacation property! We had so much fun in the backyard oasis swimming, lounging at the patio, and enjoying the hot tub! Communication about the hot tub was great and so happy they were able to get it working during our time there! So many wonderful family memories made! Wedding Retreat

We were in town for our daughter’s wedding and stayed here with our other grown children. The house is beautiful and served us well. The location was just a bit out of our way, but the house was beautiful and the pool and hot tub were just what we needed. Unfortunately, the water is low in the river/lake, therefore, we were unable to kayak. Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend. It helped us to read the reviews in advance to know things we might need to bring. Wish we could spend just one more day in the pool and hot tub!

Spring Break

The Lake Retreat is a wonderful property situated on Canyon Lake. It is very peaceful. The house is spacious and fit our group of 9 without issue. There are some top of the line amenities like the Sonos whole home audio system. We had some questions during our stay and communication with the rental group was terrific. We were disappointed to learn that the outdoor gas fire pit by the pool wasn't working for our stay but it was only a minor inconvenience. The outdoor grill is only a charcoal grill, which is mentioned in other reviews (the listing states propane/charcoal). The backyard area out by the lake provides a lot of space and the huge fire pit and pavilion are great for ending the night on the lakefront. We explored a lot of the area (San Antonio 45 mins, Austin 75 mins, New Braunfels 40 mins) but you could easily spend a week just staying at the house and the towns 15-20 minutes away have all the necessities. We really enjoyed our time here.

Beautiful house, great location!!

This property is beautiful and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. There are kayaks per the listing but the property says life jackets provided but the management company had no idea of that accommodation so we had to run out and buy our own. Also know before going to use the kayaks you will need to bring your own whistles as well. Just little things that would be great to know before arriving. Would absolutely stay again!

Great property - inside and out

The house was great - perfect layout with views of the pool and lake. The terraced yard down to the lake was really nice with plenty of seating. There was more than enough room for everyone. Definitely plan to come back in spring or fall when it's not so hot outside. Some helpful advice for future guests - the house has a Sonos speaker system, so that was pleasant surprise (all rooms indoors and outdoors as well). They also provide pool towels so no need to pack those. The grill is only charcoal, so you'll need to bring or buy some. Coffee maker is Keurig, so bring or buy some pods. Also bring some cleaning supplies as there were not any small samples provided (dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, etc).
