Fun but chilled place to stay

We had a good stay here. The vibe is very chilled with lots of nice places to chill inside and out, including a cosy camper. The aircon required dollars putting in it every three hours. Kitchens are kept clean and everyone was super friendly and sociable on the evenings.

Although the hostel is not closed to city centre, it takes around 20 minutes walk to the Wharf. The staff is super nice and will give you a lot of tips what you see and what you do in Cairns. The bed is clean, but it is no mirror on the upstairs bathroom.

A nice hostel for a good price

Staff is awesome! Main downfall is Wi-fi doesn't work in bedrooms. Room was small but the bed was comfortable and there was a table, chair & nice ceiling fan. Air Con is self pay, but cheap. Beer available on site is cheap. Multiple kitchens & hang out areas that are cozy. Pool on site. In a quieter part of town, but not a bad walk to the lagoon. I would book again.

I'd stayed alone in a private room. Everything was great: staff, hostel, etc. Very quiet, which I appreciate. The common areas were very comfy. The kitchen is not very equipped and perhaps some extra toilets/ showers would be useful (I had to wait once or twice a bit..). But in the overall: totally recommended, I would go back!

Best Cairn Hostel!

Great hostel in cairns for its cozy ambiance and awesome staff!! Easy to talk to and they can find you deals for just about anything. Friendly people in the hotel, easy to meet people for 1 guy.

DO NOT book for the delux double room!!!

The delux double room has nothing to do with delux. With the location adjacent to the stairs, you will have a room with screams, laughs and footsteps. The bed sheet is filthy. The room is tiny without even a chair, not to mention a table. The PowerPoint is no where close to the bed. Awful nights at delux room :(

Brief overnight stay in twin room

Brief overnight stay in Cairns prior to a trip on the Great Barrier Reef. It was clean, had good bathrooms and helpful staff. Shopping centre and train station are across the road. Can be a bit inconvenient though as it means you have to walk around it to get to the main part of Cairns during closing hours (can normally take a shortcut by going through it). Overall, a nice hostel though and would stay again.

Okay but there are many better alternatives

This place was okay for budget lodging in Cairns. However, I decided to move to a different hostel after two nights and was glad I did. The neighborhood only has one restaurant that hostel goers seem to go to and there was not a lot to do in the immediate vicinity. I would recommend getting a place closer to the Esplanade which is the heart of this town. Additionally, my room did not have air conditioning which made it uncomfortable to sleep at night. It seemed like most hostels that I have stayed at have a more favorable ratio of bathrooms to guests that this one, but with patience you can make it work. Additionally, I did not find the bathrooms to be clean but that can happen at any hostel as you are sharing with others.

Best hostel in the Cairns

I will recommend this hostel to anyone. It was so nice and the staff is really helpful. It is placed really close to the center, so you are within walking distance to everything you need. If we ever come back to cairns we will definitely stay at the same hostel again.

Highly recommended hostel

Remember this is a hostel... I booked the best room and it was great, spacious and very comfi bedding. The hostel has an awesome vibe and very friendly and competent staff. The recommended tours were fantastic. The locations is well within walking distance of everything, while being very nice and quiet.

Nice quiet hostel in Cairns

Lovely hostel, communal areas especially. The staff are really nice and helpful and the location is great if you don't want to be right in the heart of party town! Downsides are there are no lockers, the wifi wasn't great - worked sometimes and other nights not at all, and my sheets looked a bit grubby if I'm honest but probably that was a one-off.
