Weekend Getaway

Property was very clean. Bed was comfortable, pillows were awful. Biggest complaint is absolutely NO privacy and very noisy Friday and Saturday night. Very centrally located, not for anyone wanting a quiet retreat or a romantic weekend!

Great getaway

My husband and I stayed here with our dog for a long weekend getaway and it was so lovely. The space is perfect for 2 people. Super cozy and close to everything. We would definitely go back!

Nice location

Good location to local restaurants and state park. Only thing that needs a major update is the BED. Very soft will lean to one side The bed is a 2/5 star in my opinion. Also the back deck needs lights. Solar lights don’t work. I’d def would stay there again if those 2 things got updated.

WOW!

Honestly we had a problem- it happens. But problems are rarely addressed the way Kendra handled it! From the moment I let her know, she went above and beyond to rectify things. She was super kind and took excellent care of us!! I would HIGHLY recommend making reservations with any property she manages!💕

Fun trip

Thank you so much for the cabin. It was very clean and loved that the kitchen had all the cooking utensils ready for us. The only thing is that the washer needs to be fixed. The latch is broke so we had to hold it down to lock.

Nice, small place to stay

It was good for what I had in mind. If you are wanting quite, this is probably not the place for that. There is a lot of construction going on very close by. But I was out and about as it is very close to Beaver Bend State Park, fishing and hiking, which is exactly what I did. It is very easy to get to and close to a lot of things to do, and eat. I was along, but would be good for a couple as well.

Great Location

If hiking or fishing in the state park is on your itinerary, Jake’s Place is in the perfect location. Just 5 minutes or less from the park entrances and made travel around town super easy. Google Maps took us right to the property on arrival. It was the perfect size for myself and husband and our dog, but if your group is larger than 2 it might be a tight fit. The bed was a double and not quite as comfortable as we were hoping. The wifi was slow while we were there trying to watch sports and movies in the evenings. We loved relaxing in the hot tub in the evenings, too. The kitchen is well stocked with a few spices and plenty of baking pans. No cooking spray but did have salt and pepper. House interior was very clean upon arrival. The neighborhood is undergoing a lot of construction so lots of trucks in and out, even on Saturday. Overall satisfied with our weekend getaway stay!

WARNING: BYO Bed!

The bed in this 1 bedroom cabin was absolutely shameful!! A hammock would have been more comfortable. The mattress (if you could call it that) was ultra cheap and had zero support. They had it inside a zippered plastic mattress cover which loudly crinkled with ANY movement. I haven’t wet the bed since I was a toddler. This atrocity didn’t even have a fabric mattress protector, so the CHEAP microfiber sheets were directly on the plastic. So, that setup made us sweat like pigs all night long. DISGUSTING!! I haven’t had such miserable nights in a long time. We actually “fought” over who got to sleep on the couch. Who does that? Shame on y’all for trying to pass off that bed as sleepable.

VRBO gave my info to wrong renter

I had been receiving texts from someone telling me where to go but it was different than what VRBO was telling me to do so I ended up driving around for an hour lost until I just went back to original confirmation email and the info was correct there. I’m still getting messages from a property that I never rented and I’ve had only one message from my actual renter. The property was perfect for me and my girlfriend! The name says it all but if you’re out enjoying nature you don’t need a huge space! Everything was so awesome. I honestly just think it was a glitch in the app that made things a little Weird to start but I would recommend this property 💯
