You'll have the entire apartment to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.
The Hideaway
Cozy one bedroom apartment with separate entrance in historic home located on 11 acres. Property abuts a 32 acre nature preserve with easy access to hiking trails. Outdoor fire pit and private use of the patio and 10 person hot tub upon request. Pet friendly.
The space
The apartment is a private apartment in my home with a shared wall so you may hear some sounds from my family (just me and my teenage daughter) and pets (who bark when cars enter the driveway) but we try to be respectful of our guests. Also, for those of you with multiple guests, there is a queen bed in the bedroom, the daybed in the living room has a trundle and the loveseat pulls out to an additional twin bed. So the living room area can sleep three additional adults for a total of 5 but it can get a little crowded if you have multiple guests. The bathroom is off of the bedroom so guests in the living room area need to access the bedroom to use the bathroom.
Guest access
The main house was built in 1719 and the property was a sheep farm centuries ago. There is a lovely stream that bisects the property and guests are free to explore the property and use all outdoor furniture. Outdoor fire pit and private use of the patio and 10 person hot tub available upon request.
Other things to note
Please be careful taking the cover off the hot tub. It can be folded in half by one person but will take two people to remove the cover. There is a retaining wall behind the hot tub with some loose stones so please be careful and do not remove the cover from that side. It can be removed by standing on the sides of the hot tub and sliding it off toward the retaining wall. The gas fireplace in the living room can be turned on manually but it's an older unit so getting it started can be tricky. HERD retreat

Cats take hosting seriously!
A beautiful setting, artfully decorated, and hosts include a cat who even showed us out! Rrally enjoyed our stay and Kitan (sp?) Came to visit. Very friendly cat! Loved the gorgeous multi colored chandelier!

We enjoyed our short stay with Renee, who was very helpful! Plenty of room for our XL dogs to walk - ( 90lbs and 188lbs). Thank you for your hospitality! We’ll see you again, if we’re in the area!
