We were expecting historical grandeur. Instead it felt like an abandoned old mansion. The indoor pool was like something out of a horror movie, the furniture was antique meh, and the food was mediocre in quality while being obscenely expensive. My eggs over easy with white toast (not homemade), for example, was $28. The room (we upgraded to a King Deluxe) was TINY, with no fridge or coffee maker. And finally, all kinds of extra charges (parking, random hotel fees) at the end left us feeling nickel and dimed, instead of wined and dined. Save your $- climb a peak for the view, stay in the Comfort Inn, and visit a museum for $5.

Slow season so not all activities or restaurants were available but the trade off was how peaceful it was. The views are majestic everywhere you turn. The food was excellent and every staff member I encountered was kind and helpful. When we mentioned it was our 25th wedding anniversary, there were some treats with a card delivered to our room.

Enjoyable stay. Hotel/spa staff- without exception- friendly and attentive. Food & beverage quality excellent. Slightly disappointed that room (120) had multiple unsightly stains in bathroom- surprising at this property. Also issues maintaining consistent heat level in room. Still highly recommend. Stunning architecture, amazing setting and interesting history.

Expected more from this "Classy Resort"

We checked in on a Friday and checked out on Sunday. Just a weekend trip for our wedding anniversary. We stayed in room 101 (Corner Vista). When we arrived at the room there was still garbage next to our door from the previous guests. When we entered the door, it was stuck and had the shove it open. Obviously old. You could see the scrape marks on the door plate where it was rubbing. Been this way for awhile by the looks. The room was clean however the pillows on the day couch were badly worn and had feathers occasionally coming out of them. The first night we tried to turn on the fireplace but it didn't work. Called front desk and let them know about the garbage and they said they would send someone right up. They didn't show up until the next day when I called the second time. Called front desk about the fireplace. They sent someone right away. Thenice man was there for about 30 minutes and couldn't get it working. So no romantic fire for our anniversary. Room service is very limited and very expensive. There are no prices on the online menu and our first choices from the list were no longer available. Online menu was not updated apparently. So we ordered our second choices instead. That door was cooked to perfection and delicious however was shocked to have a $250.00 bill for 2 entree's, 2 desserts, and 2 cans of soda. There was a $200 dollar non refundable pet cleaning fee for our dog to.stay with us, however their pet policy forbids the pets to be anywhere but the room

Beautiful location. Exceptional scenery. Front desk staff was courteous, but rule-following and at points. Getting a late check out when the hotel was less than full on a mid-day week (Wednesday) in April after snow was ridiculous. I was made to feel like I was putting everyone out. it was obvious that entire wings and floors were empty. I was told my room was rented for the next day. Then, I was given an extended stay, but only after signing up for the “club,” whatever that is. Then, exactly at 12.30, housekeeping knocked on the door to clean the room. Really? This was an opportunity to make a customer for life and for me to tell everyone I know how amazing this resort it. Instead, I loved the scenery but the hotel view of hospitality is below average. Don’t take this out on the front-desk staff. They are way too young for that. Management and leadership need to own this failure to see an opportunity to inspire and create loyalty. And, I left items behind, but no one could find them. Really? They weren’t precious, merely a vest and rain shell.

As an Omni select guest, I made the reservation for 3 rooms. One was mountainview (couldn’t see anyway as it was foggy) and 2 were regular. For some reason, our room was the least appealing of all the rooms, as an Omni Select guest. The other two had fireplaces and a sitting chair. Ours had neither… very basic. Why was this?

I read many reviews of this property, many were recently negative. My room is very clean, I received an upgrade on check in. It's an older, but a classic, hotel. Beautiful lobby, excellent service. I would recommend this,hotel, and certainly stay again.

The hotel was absolutely beautiful. Clean and comfortable. Staff was very polite and friendly. The only issue I had was the food. It was very expensive and just very disappointing. They could do so much better. I will definitely be back, but I will travel off site and eat elsewhere.
