The space was large enough for 5 of us. Overall things were nice and we were able to cook a few meals. Only complaints are that some aspects felt a bit "cheap" like the silverware quality, no facial tissues anywhere, and we were told there was no wine bottle opener because the hosts didn't want to encourage parties, however, there were wine glasses in the cabinets. Also, the fact that there was a "noise level detector" we found a bit odd. I get they are very concerned about people being loud and throwing parties but it felt like we were kind of being monitored. Otherwise the hosts were kind and responsive.

The host was communicative and the home itself was clean, which we appreciated. However, there were several issues that made our stay less comfortable than expected. When we arrived, one of the bedrooms was locked and we had to reach out to have it opened. It also appears that although the property is advertised as a nine-bedroom home, access to beds is restricted based on the number of registered guests. With only three of us staying, this created confusion and added stress—we weren’t sure if using another bed (in case one wasn’t comfortable) would result in extra charges. Even though this rental was somewhat less expensive than options closer to the city, it was still costly, and being limited to only a few beds felt restrictive for the price. At one point, my daughter wanted to use a blanket from another bed because it seemed more comfortable, and we genuinely weren’t sure if that would lead to additional charges since the policy wasn’t clearly explained.Additionally, the beds we did use were not very comfortable, which made it harder to rest. There is also a separate rental upstairs, and the noise transfer between floors is significant. While the host mentioned the home is older, there is very little sound insulation. We could hear everyday noises like walking, talking, luggage rolling, and even coughing at all hours. The upstairs guests were not being unreasonably loud—it’s simply that the walls and floors allow sound to carry very easily.

The unit was as advertised. It was very clean and well furnished with comfortable beds. The neighborhood was quiet yet close to the outskirts of Boston and near Franklin Park Zoo which we visited to see Boston Lights. Noise from the upstairs unit was a bit of a nuisance, but overall we had an excellent stay.

Pros and cons to this stay. Con - if you have over 4 guests, you will be charged extra. I've stayed in a lot of short-term rentals and never paid more b/c someone would need to open a bedroom/do more laundry. Con - VERY thin walls and floors/ceilings. We heard every move by the party above us. To the owner's credit, when I complained about a party above us at midnight, she helped notify the guests the next day to calm down the crowd. Con - very sparsely furnished kitchen - a few plates, bowls, utensils, glasses, and some pots & pans. If you plan to cook for your crowd to save on high Boston-area prices, check the unit first to see what you can actually cook. We had some check-in snafus, but the owner is quick to respond and hospitable.

Nice
We enjoyed staying at this houses, itnwas clean and very well kept. The major complaint/issue we had was with the upstairs residents. Theyy were blairinf music very loud on both nights ( ( Saturdays Sunday). We could hear them walking throughout the place and on Saturday night the fire alarmbcame on causing us to get out of the Apt just to find out they were cooking and it smeled like fried food from the outside.
