The build quality was poor, taps loose & comming off, fridge cupboard lock broken, could not access the fridge. Windows broken & taped with ducktape. Heating not working. No hair dryer.

I booked Mr. Lewis Boutique Hotel Overveen because it stated „laundry facilities“ under „family friendly“ and I expected a facility to do laundry easily during our 3-week travel period. Unfortunately, there was no laundry facility. I was helped to find alternatives which I appreciated but I didn‘t get what I had expected based on the description. The App system for opening the door worked well and like a key card, however it is a little inconvenient if you need a specific phone to have battery at the end of the day every day in order to access the property. Maybe, once opened on the first night an actual room key could be stored in the room? The day we arrived at 10 p.m. the hugging sheet on the mattress was missing on the bed and as there is no reception I had to figure out a hygienic solution for the first night myself after talking to the contact. Overall, safe area, walkable to Overveen station (25 min. train ride to Amsterdam), cleanliness good, but shower was constructed poorly so that bathroom flooded daily. Floor towel, which I’m used to in hotels, was missing. Luckily, the staff stored the mop right in front if our room, therefore we just mopped up the excess water. Also little shelf-space in bathroom. The staircase was narrow and steep. Getting suitcases up was tricky. This hotel was unfortunately not the right fit for our needs because I thought I had found the perfect combination of hotel (providing great bedding and working bathroom) and a DIY laundry facility.

Die Zimmer sind schön und sauber. Es stinkt allerdings immer wieder nach Abfluss oder Kläranlage, was sehr unangenehm war. Außerdem ist es total unpraktisch, dass man nur auf einem Handy einen Zugangs Code hat und somit immer dem Mitreisenden sein Handy geben muss wenn er alleine ins Zimmer rein möchte.

Leider hat man keinen Ansprechpartner, telefonisch oder per Whatsapp wird nicht reagiert. Parkplätze waren alle besetzt, also nicht ausreichend, mußte ewig weit weg auf der Strasse parken. Rechnungen werden falsch ausgestellt, bzw teils auch gar nicht ausgestellt. Da es eine Geschäftsreise war, würde ich diese Unterkunft zukünftig vermeiden, wenn es geht.

In augustus 1 nacht verbleven, maar heel wat puntjes van kritiek. De mobiele airco lekte heel erg (handdoeken op de vloer) en koelde overigens niet tot matig, waardoor de warmte op de kamer eigenlijk niet te doen was. Na een douche hangt er een hele erge rioollucht in de kamer. De huur van de fietsen was erg voordelig, maar waren zo slecht van kwaliteit dat we dit na 15 minuten hebben gestaakt. Helaas kan ik er niet positief over zijn en zullen we hier niet opnieuw verblijven.
