Gorgeous winter getaway!!

This home was absolutely beautiful, nestled away in the Pipestem State Park. It snowed the entire weekend and the host was gracious to give us great directions and assistance if anyone got stuck. Would recommend for a group ski trip to Winterplace!

An amazing cabin in the woods

The property manager is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. She was always there and ready to help if we had an questions or issues. The cabin is beautiful and stocked for whatever you may need. Will definitely be booking again

Wonderful cabin in the woods

My family and I loved this cabin. It was extremely well stocked (plenty of hand soap, toliet paper, etc) and was very clean The area was extremely quiet and we even saw deer! We will return to this rental!

Retreat at Pipestem.

Had a wonderful stay with 10 of our family. Very spacious and adequate accommodations for our group. We have stayed at the Retreat several times before 4 or 5 years ago, and the cabins, and appliances were cleaner and in much better condition. The Black Bear especially was somewhat rundown and not very clean. I hope the owners are made aware of the deficiencies so that they can be corrected. Such a beautiful place and it would be ashamed to let it get run down further. We hope to return some day.

Perfect Location!

We loved staying at Blackbear Cabin. It was the perfect size and location for our family cabin getaway. Super close to Pipestem, Bluestone, and Hinton. We were even able to drive a little further out to see the New River Gorge Bridge!

Piece of Heaven

The Black Bear Cabin was wonderful! Even better in person than the pictures. Privacy in a beautiful wooded setting with a huge wrap around deck and covered outdoor area from the lower level entrance. The cabin is decorated so nice and has every amenity you would need. We had a family trip with our 4 adult children and grandchildren and the cabin is so close to all activities at Pipestem State Park! The cabin was clean and well maintained and great for a family trip. Bathrooms were also perfect for a larger group! Wonderful 5 stars!

Family Fun!

This was our second time staying at this beautiful cabin for a family ski trip. Winterplace is a quick drive from the cabin. Kitchen is well stock for family meals at home versus eating out. Three levels are perfect for some quiet time or for hang out space for different age groups. The manager responded timely to all my wuestions about the cabin and activities in the area.

Fantastic Cabin

We had a wonderful experience at The Black Bear Cabin. Our small Scout Troop stayed here while skiing at Winterplace. It was very nice, clean, and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and easy layout. Sleeping was comfortable and flexible. Very private. You must follow the directions to get there very carefully!

Bear Cabin Family Retreat

The log house was a Christmas present to my family for a long weekend winter vacation. To ski and snow tube and to play games and cook in the wonderful stocked kitchen. Loved the fire place and plenty of room for the 11 1/2 of us Our daughter is pregnant The bathrooms were stocked well too Great property any time of the year. Enjoyed hiking close by

The prefect place for a family Christmas retreat.

This cabin was very comfortable and cozy. Plenty of room for everyone. One of our grandchildren said: “I don’t want to leave, I like this cabin.” I think that says it all. We will be back again.

Wonderful Place for Birthdays Celebrations!

An adventure to get there, we were glad to have exact distance directions to arrive at this beautiful, peaceful, comfortable, and equipped timber lodge. It felt like home when we entered. Mindful of three floors of wood, we all knew LIFE happens when lots of people are in there together, but that made it more comfy. The fire pit was fun! The Care Instructions were easy to follow. The location is within easy distance and time to many sights, activities, views, walks, restaurants, and adventures in Pipestem Park and on Hwy. 20. Our ladies group would enjoy being there again!
