This home was built in 1740. It is a beautiful unique property with exceptional hosts. The breakfast were so well prepared and delicious. Hosts were most welcoming.
It's hard to imagine a better way to explore Bayeux and the Normandy area than to stay for three nights with Gilles and Michael at their lovely small inn. We shall always recall their warm hospitality, helpful suggestions, delicious breakfasts, spacious grounds; and the interiors of the wonderful old home. We hated to leave and would return anytime..Merci, au revoir--Laurie and Brian
We enjoyed our stay in Bayeux. Giles and Michael were welcoming hosts, sharing their knowledge of the area with us. The breakfast was terrific. It is conveniently located in Bayeux.
My husband said Giles’ tart aux pomme was the best he had on our trip to France.

Breakfast was superb with a slight daily change to the menu.
Gilles and Michael are wonderful hosts. Very good communication. The house and property are impressive and very centrally located. But also very quiet. There is free parking.
Breakfast was delicious and hearty.
If you book this property be sure to pay attention to the limited check in time.
The only reason I gave this 4 stars is because of the bedding linens. They do not use regular pillows with pillow cases. Instead they use throw pillows without cases. Also, there was no top sheet on the beds, only a comforter or throw blanket to cover you up in bed.
This hotel is in a great location to all sites in town. The owners went out of their way to make you feel at home.

Loved our stay!
My wife and I had a wonderful three days at this bed and breakfast in August of 2025. The property is beautiful with whimsical decorations. Our room was large and clean and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was excellent and our hosts were very warm and welcoming. The house was very convenient to all of the attractions in Bayeux. You should stay here!
Not much more to say that hasn't already been said. A unique place to stay. Gorgeous and extensive gardens in back of a huge lovingly restored historic house with eclectic decorations throughout. My wife and I are seniors who preferred not to do stairs so we stayed on the ground floor next to the breakfast dining room. Many interesting furnishings in the spacious room with a very modern bathroom. And surprisingly quiet even if another couple or 2 began breakfast while we were still in our room. But I have to mention it was a bit chilly despite an electric heater on the other side of the room from the bed. Breakfasts were delicious with many items to choose without even getting up from the table. That makes it a 5 star B&B for sure. But what really sets it apart are the delightful hosts Gilles and Michael. They are full of information and good humor, making a stay there a truly unique and utterly joyful experience. We were sad we had to leave.
At the end of our two week adventures in France, this was our favorite place to stay and the place we would most unreservedly recommend. Thank you Michael and Gilles for your wonderful hospitality and care of the hotel particulier le clos de la croix. À bientôt!
Absolutely in love with the views, the vibe, the hospitality, and of course, the location. We had an incredible stay and wished we had booked to stay longer. The bed was luxuriously comfortable, great amenities, and charming hosts.
Michael and Gilles have created a beautiful oasis for travelers. Their home, the setting, the history of the area, all combined to make a perfect trip. We will definitely be going back.
When you are at the main door, you cannot imagine once they open, how beautiful the home and gardens are. We were there in September, and what made this stay so wonderful, were Michael & Gilles. You could not ask for more accommodating, kind people. They were always available to us and recommended some wonderful restaurants. The breakfasts were wonderful at this B&B, and it was very convenient to all the sites in the area.

This is a Gem…. Absolutely loved our stay here, we will be back 1000% ….. the host did an amazing job capturing this amazing time piece and gave us such a warm welcoming experience. We loved them and their hospitality. Highly recommend
Gilles and Michael have a beautifully restored chateau right in city center. Very accessible by foot to restaurants and city sites. They are perfect hosts always very helpful and knowledgeable of the area. A beautifully set breakfast table each morning with delicious food.
We had a fabulous stay and felt that all of our needs were met as though we were at home. The breakfasts were extremely delicious and relaxing, and the garden was very beautiful and totally enhanced our stay. The hosts were very accommodating throughout our visit and helped us enjoy the features of a 1752 home. Staying here was a highlight of our recent trip to Europe.
What an amazing find! We LOVED our stay here. The location was perfect, the accommodation itself amazing with comfort and character, and our hosts generous, kind and considerate. There's even a music room to relax in. We highly recommend staying at Le Clos de la Croix with Gilles and Michael!
We can't say enough good things about our stay. The owners are super friendly, charming and helpful. We could have stayed four more nights easily. Breakfast was incredible and featured a different pastry every morning. Rooms are decorated so that one feels like one is staying in an old mansion. Our best hotel out of five for our trip.
Micael and Giles were perfect hosts. The breakfast was abundant and tasteful. The property was originally built in the 1700's and lovingly renovated by the current owners. Amazing property, amazing hosts! Highly recommended.
Michael and Gilles are wonderful hosts !
Everything perfect !
The house has a huge garden !
The parking is close to the house and you have access directly from it. The breakfast is wonderfully served.
