Location:
Tucked away in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood in the city of Basslake, the cabin offers a serene retreat. It's within walking distance of a lovely park featuring a beautiful waterfall—a perfect spot for a relaxing stroll. That said, be cautious about swimming or walking barefoot there, as the area tends to have quite a bit of duck droppings. For those wondering, we did try fishing but didn’t get any bites. Parking at the park is $10, and the payment process can be a bit confusing.
Cabin:
The cabin itself was spacious and well-equipped. Essentials like toilet paper, soap, and other amenities were generously provided by the host. One highlight for us was the room with toys—my kids absolutely loved it and felt right at home. They even shared the room comfortably without any issues.
A small drawback was the lack of a privacy screen on the patio door leading to the backyard. It wasn’t a problem during the day, but at night it felt a bit unsettling, especially given how dark and quiet the countryside gets. We ended up hanging a blanket over the door for peace of mind. The backyard is on the smaller side but does include a gas BBQ, which was a nice bonus. The driveway, on the other hand, is long and spacious, making parking super easy.
Overall:
We had a great experience and would definitely book this cabin again. Vincent was incredibly responsive and easy to communicate with. Thank you again, Vincent!
