We enjoyed our stay in the lovely home while we went to the Scottish Highland Games at Grandfather Mountain. Our group was made up of 3 couples and a 5 year old. The morning mountain air was very enjoyable as we ate breakfast and enjoyed coffee on the deck. Even in July, the weather was great. Cool mornings and evenings and bright sunny days. There is a air hockey table, but we had other things to do.
The house is centrally located, and the drives to and from weren't too bad (except for Saturday to the games).
If you have young children, go visit the Tweetsie Railroad Amusement Park. It is a little expensive ($60/adult & $40/children over 2), but our 5 yr old could ride every ride either alone or accompanied by an adult. They also have many rides just for smaller children.
We had a Blast!
I recommend this home for families. It is spacious, well laid out, and enough room for everyone to congregate for meals.
