Great stay for our group of 9 adults. Stayed here so that we could attend a wedding at The Brooks. It would be a great place to stay for families, too.

Amazing place for my son’s wedding! We hosted all of the groomsmen and were able to cook dinner for a large group with plenty of room as well as activities to keep everyone entertained.

We housed our elderly parents & family here for a wedding and it was perfect. It was easy for them to get around, while providing entertainment for the younger crowd. The back porch was great for Saturday football!

It is FILTHY. Rat poop and dead bugs in game room. Main Game room overcrowded and covered in dust. Refrigerator in garage / 2nd game room had drippings and hair inside. Owner says we destroyed a pillow. It is dry rotted and pleather side crumbled. Owner was made aware this was a family reunion approximately 50 adults and 20 kids. Now complaining we left trashcans full. All the games and equipment are old. One grill rusted and not usable. Another clugged with grease. In main kitchen dishes and pots had food residue on them. May have been ran through dishwasher but not checked before put away.This could be a nice rustic place if owner would clean it.

Great Ideas, Not Great Execution

We stayed here for my niece's wedding. Overall, there were 12 of us. Please make sure to note that this place is 4 different buildings. The loft really is a tall garage retrofitted to have a seating area when you walk in with a pull-out couch, and a bath with a shower. The shower was built with a slight slope, and the water just ended up draining out onto the floor. We used it once. The loft had a king bed, AC, and TV. We couldn't get the TV to work. It might be user error. However, this space is not meant for tall people. I am not tall, only 5'9", and I hit my head on the ceiling multiple times. And the ceiling is rough, so I literally scraped skin off the top of my scalp. The game room was cool, or the “Man Cave”. I think the main issue is that everything is cramped in there. The front area of this building is set up like a reception. Other little things like one AC unit tips in so the water drained inside and created a puddle on the floor. I just turned that off. They also had a window that leaked. There was another building called the “Cottage”. Same issue with the shower. Water puddled out onto the floor. The outdoor area behind the house was a bit rough, but we liked the multitude of grilling options. Most meals were made out there. However, it was a bit mildew-smelling out there. They had a drip point from the roof that fell into a pan, and then the water was supposed to disperse from that pan by a hose. Also, outside was a pickleball court. That got used several times

Perfect wedding weekend

We searched for weeks looking for a convenient spot for extended family to stay during our wedding weeding in Weatherford. There is no better spot in the area if you are planning a family reunion, wedding or just need an escape from the hustle & bustle of the big city. Our entire family loved it! The age span is from 8 to 80…everyone found the whole property fun & relaxing.

Wedding Trip

Our son’s wedding was held at A & M Garden Venue, 10 miles from this VRBO property! The property’s amenities were exactly what my crew needed to enjoy, relax and all be present in one beautiful location. The highlight…the stunning colored longhorn, who was asking for attention visiting the fence line for all to see! Thank you to the owners for providing space for my family’s special event! If we needed anything, the communication was well received and quickly replied!! I would highly recommend!!

Extension cords used as permanent wiring, exposed outlets, hot water issues, unsteady handrail, rotten deck boards, grills too dirty to use, shower head fell off, only heat in cottage was space heater ( unsafe with kids), loose floor tiles in loft, hot tub jets not working, shower lip in cottage insufficient (water flooded floor), coffee maker in loft tripping breaker, not what listing showed. Highly disappointed and embarrassed.

Perfect stay for extended family

The property was perfect. I could not have asked for more. Great communication from owners. Close to everything but still very quiet area. Will be back for next year. If you have a large group of family this is the pace for you. 1000% recommend!

Great Adventure

We hosted family for Thanksgiving. With the three separate living areas, all families had some privacy. The outdoor game room had games for everyone and every age. Highly recommend for large groups.

Total eclipse get-away

Property was great. We spent all our free time in the pool and hot-tub and didn't get to play the games but if we'd stayed a few more days, we would have gotten around to it for sure. Everything in the house worked great and there were no issues whatsoever. Every room had a TV (very nice). Got to see the cattle drive in the FW stockyards (go on a weekday unless you love huge crowds!), saw Dealey Plaza and the Dallas aquarium (I loved it, the wife not so much). And, of course, we got to see the total eclipse of the sun just ten miles due south of the house, and the weather cooperated (!!). Very peaceful area

Birthday weekend

Words cannot express how awesome the property is and how great a host Paul is. Family coming in the spring and this is my go to place. From the game rooms to the swim spa n hot tub to the bed its wonderful. Also got some great pics of the longhorns.

Unfortunately, I do not recommend this property.

I only have 1500 characters so I’m only going to state the bad to bring awareness! We walk out to the backyard and it is not in the condition as advertised. The grass is tall, the yard is not fully fenced in, there is trash throughout the yard, there was empty buckets and boards and all kinds of random stuff throughout the yard, the furniture was awful, it is extremely run down and over all in bad shape (rust, broken, etc). The yard was an EXTREME disappointment. We also had to find boards and whatever other trash to block in the backyard for the dogs since it was not fully fenced in. The hot tub and swim spa were not swimmable. They both had algae and were both dirty. We tested the hot tub with pool strips, and every single category came back out of level. It was not safe to swim in. The swim spa came back okay on 2 levels and out of balance on the others. Neither one contained any bromine which is the essential chemical to keep these at a safe level. Also, the hot tub was a totally different hot tub than pictured in the listing. The garage game room was nice, but the separate game room was the same as the backyard. Very run down, old, and at best, everything was in Fair condition. The outdoor parts of the property were so bad that we even asked for a refund after only being there 30 or so minutes. I do not recommend this property. It is not as advertised. The host is very polite so I hate to make this review but we wasted money on a rundown falsely advertised property.

Christmas 2023 in Azle

When we told people our entire family was spending Christmas weekend in Azle, we got some strange looks. Only an hour or so from our respective homes in Denton, Haslet, Flower Mound, and Arlington, it was an easy commute, and we made many memories at this remarkable property. While the house was an average size, the adjoining studio house was perfect for our 4 grandchildren. They loved having their own domain with bathroom. The main house has a converted garage that is now a game room. Everyone enjoyed it, and it provided a spillover that made the house seem less crowded. The kitchen was fully equipped, and there was a second full size fridge in the game room. The piece de resistance was the huge game room across the property. Plenty of activities for everyone and another spot where all of us could be seated and play Christmas games. Nights were spent in the heated pool, the hot tub, or around the fire pit watching tv, the neighboring longhorns, and the breathtaking sunsets. Thanks for sharing this wonderful home, the Christmas tree, and the peaceful surroundings with us. We appreciated your prompt replies to our questions and the many amenities.

Most Amazing Family Weekend

What an amazing stay. The perfect home for our family! We love family games so the volleyball, billiards and poker were a plus! The kids loved the pools and the adults enjoyed the hot tub. We hung by the fire pit at night and had s’mores! Paul was very communicative and gave some really great advice about local eats and stores nearby.
