Nice and quiet place to stay and explore. The location is best to view the beautiful town and lake below. Lots of hiking trails besides the long winding road to and fro Ascona. WiFi is not readily available and tugging suitcase over the cobblestone is a challenge. Breakfast is great.

Das Hotel ist etwas besonderes, historisch und in einem tollen Park. Die Aussicht ist super, es gibt kostenlose ParkplÀtze und schöne Wanderwege in der direkten Umgebung. Preis/Leistung gut. Vorweg: Ich werde bestimmt nochmal wiederkommen. Bei meinem Besuch war ich aufgrund der Bestimmungen vom Bundesrat gezwungen, im Hotelrestaurant zu speisen. Das Restaurant war leider enttÀuschend. Die Speisen waren leider nicht gut, der Service war trÀge und unzureichend.

Nice hotel with gorgeous view on Lago Maggiore

very nice hotel, a car is highly recommended as the hotel is up a steep hill, gorgeous view on Lago Maggiore, breakfast is served on a beautiful terrace, nice breakfast buffet, the lake area (Switzerland and Italy) can be easily explored when staying at the hotel, Locarno is within walking distance, some might prefer a taxi for returning to the hotel

Great Lake Maggiore visit

Fantastic room with views and elevation - quite warm in July 15-17 2015 to 35C without aircon and mosquitoes makes nights very warm- kept windows open and mosquitoes etc - less sleep. Great breakfast on top terrace. Admin staff and all just lovely. Will return.

This is the first time I have used hotels.com and the write-up was not representative of the hotel. This is a three star hotel and the rooms I was first given were like a youth hostel room, one did not even have a window to look out of. I was moved to a better room after complaining and showing the staff the photographs on the hotels.com website. I still did not get a room as per the pictures.

Komfortabler Kurzurlaub

Auch beim spĂ€teren eintreffen um 21.30 Uhr, wurden wir zuvorkommend begrĂŒsst und der ZimmerschlĂŒssel ausgehĂ€ndigt. Das Zimmer war im Bauhaus, wir hatten einen Hund dabei. Das Zimmer war geheizt und sehr sauber, die Betten komfortabel, die Matratze etwas weich aber nicht durchgelegen. Die Bettdecke gibt sehr warm, toll fĂŒr Menschen die schnell kalt haben. Die Fenster können mit einem Rolladen verdunkelt werden. Das Badezimmer ist mit Duschgel und Shampoo ausgestattet. Der FrĂŒhstĂŒckstaum ist ab 7.30 Uhr offen, das Servicepersonal sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Das Buffet ist vielfĂ€ltig und der Kaffee, Cappuccino oder Latte Macchiato ist von guter QualitĂ€t. Alles in allem war es ein toller Aufenthalt, sehr zu empfehlen.

The gentleman at the reception as well as the lady at breakfast were so friendly. It was a really special place, with Bauhaus architecture and an interesting history. Even if it took me a lot of effort to hike up to the hotel from the lake, it was totally worth it!

ich hatte bereits vor einem Jahr alleine im Monte VeritĂ  ĂŒbernachtet und dieses Jahr mit der ganzen Familie. Mir gefĂ€llt der Ort, die GebĂ€ude und die Zimmer im Bauhaus mit den grossen Balkonen und der tollen Aussicht. Dazu kommt die Ruhe. Ich habe jede Nacht bestens geschlafen
