We checked in at 8 PM and checked out early at 7 AM. The front desk staff during both check-in and check-out were friendly and helpful, which was appreciated.
However, the breakfast experience was lacking. We arrived around 7:10 AM, but none of the staff acknowledged us,even though we walked right past them. We had to ask for assistance, and only then were we told that eggs, ham, and fries had to be requested at the front. That’s fine, but a simple sign would’ve helped avoid confusion. The coffee wasn't ready,it was still brewing,which is disappointing since breakfast was supposed to start at 7. There was also no butter or spreads available for making a sandwich, although one staff member was kind enough to get us some when asked. On a positive note, the eggs did come out quickly once we ordered them.
The room and overall decor were basic, which was expected for the $90 price. However, the mattress was a major issue,it sagged badly in the middle, making it extremely uncomfortable for two people. It felt like we were rolling into each other all night, and I barely got any sleep. The walls were paper-thin, so we could hear everything from neighboring rooms and the busy street outside.
We also stopped by the bar, but there was no bartender present, so we ended up not ordering anything.
Overall, if they upgraded the mattresses and ensured the breakfast staff had everything ready at the stated start time, I would’ve rated this 4 stars, especially considering the budget price.
