About this property
Pian della Chiesa, Murella - nature, wine, trails, sea and private pool
Pian della Chiesa is an idyllic 50-hectare estate immersed in a forest of pines, elms and oaks, crisscrossed by paths that run along the splendid, steep Ligurian coast. It is located in the Montemarcello Natural Park in an ideal position to explore the villages of Liguria, Tuscany and to enjoy nature with trekking or cycling. You will be able to enjoy a place among plants, vineyards and woods enriched with pet friendly services, swimming pool, barbecue and much more. This stone villa can comfortably accommodate a family of 6.
It is located in a private fenced garden of 4 hectares enriched with barbecue and outdoor furniture where there is also a beautiful private fresh water swimming pool (10m x 3m) built into the terraced slope and equipped with umbrellas, deck chairs and shower.
All the rooms on the ground floor have French windows, making the outside pergola and garden part of the daily use of the house and therefore a very summery atmosphere.
Entering from the large pergola you enter an elegantly furnished living room centered on an antique fireplace, flanked by the corridor that leads to a well-equipped kitchen and an antique display cabinet for glasses and dishes.
From the kitchen a door leads to a bathroom and a double bedroom with high ceilings and French windows onto the garden. On the upper floors there are 2 more double bedrooms each with private bathroom with shower. You will have exclusive access to Murella, a private parking near the accommodation and a 4-hectare enclosed park.
The 10x3 meter freshwater swimming pool is private.
Flexible in-person check-in. For any questions, write to us and we will answer you immediately! The surrounding woods were once all cultivated and are interwoven with beautiful dry limestone walls, so thick that they form elevated paths. We have carefully restored these old walls and reintroduced crops, carefully chosen to suit the landscape and the situation.
You will find fruit trees scattered around the older oaks and pines and small fenced fields of vegetable gardens, artichoke plants or potatoes. The houses have also received a new green life and are self-sufficient for both electricity and hot water, making this a very eco-friendly place to stay.
We produce two excellent organic red wines “Margot” and “Margot Terrazze” and a rosé “Margottino” that you can taste in the cellar. - Pian della Chiesa is a 50 hectares estate that sits on top of the Caprione peninsula, 900 meters from the Mediterranean and 350 meters above sea level. It has different accommodation solutions: Murella (host 6), Dolinetta (host 4), Bungalow (host 4) and Concara (host 2). It is in an ideal position for exploring the hill villages and coast of the Cinque Terre, Liguria and Northern Tuscany. Set in a Natural Park that is mainly made up of typical Mediterranean woods of umbrella pines, helms and Turkish oaks, woven with paths, and bordering the beautiful and steep coastline of Southern Liguria. It is ideally set for exploring the small villages on the coast, with delicious fish restaurants and hidden coves from which to swim. The Cinque Terre are easily reachable, with miles of walking paths on the craggy coastline, punctuated by villages clinging to the edge of the coast, with steep vineyards where the grapes are collected in mini-funicular train arrangements. Alternatively you might head east, towards the Apennines and the Apuan Alps, made of the famous Carrara marble so loved by Michelangelo. Deep valleys hold traces of the Romans and of the ancient indigenous population called the Lunis. The mountains also harbour delicious restaurants and charming villages worth exploring. The classic cities of Tuscany are also not far away, with Pisa and Lucca around an hour away, while Florence is just under 2 hours.
For entertainment, guests can expect to find TVs. Other amenities include kitchens, washing machines, and 3 bathrooms.

Quiet and charming stay
Murella was just as beautiful in real life as in the photos. The house had everything we needed and my children used the pool every day. The house is conveniently located for day trips to the Riviera and Tuscany. After a day of exploring, it was a relaxing place to come home. Ottavio was a fantastic host. And his wine is divine.

Fantastico!
The property is incredible. Ottavio met us when we arrived and his enthusiasm to make our stay pleasurable was very much appreciated. The house is very comfortable and the kitchen is a chef's dream. The directions to the property (over the hills and through the woods) were spot on. We enjoyed the tour of the winery Ottavio gave us and his wine is molto bene! Thanks for a wonderful stay. We hope to return soon!

Lovely retreat in Tuscany/Liguria
What a wonderful spot! My family and I enjoyed 5 nights here and were very reluctant to leave! The house and pool are very clean, well equipped, and well situated in a quiet location. The house is nicely appointed and offers 3 comfortable bedrooms and 3 baths. The nearby town of Lerici is a coastal gem and a good place to catch the ferry to Portovenere and the Cinque Terre. We also made an easy day trip to Lucca. We visited in late May and the pool was open but quite chilly. Still, it was a refreshing swim at the end of a day of touring and the lounge chairs offered relaxation and view of the forests and olive groves. Rather idyllic setting!
Ottavio is very welcoming and provides lots of information. We did have a challenge finding the house our first time, and the road up to it is narrow and winding. We decided to cook our dinners in as I did not want to make the trek after a dinner out and face the road in the dark. The kitchen offers all the pots/pans etc one needs to cook, but you must provide everything on your own such as olive oil, spices, herbs. There is excellent wi-fi at the house but the cell service is spotty. I would definitely recommend this for a relaxing stay in Italy and hope to return someday!

Periode eind april /begin mei
Heerlijk verblijf gehad. Zeer mooie verassende omgeving.

Splendid house and pool in the woods
The place is just as described, and offers a calm and private setting in the woods above Tellaro. Beautiful house and pool and large garden. The access is by a narrow mountain road. Ottavio was a good host and ensured that we had a good stay. We travelled with our 1,5 year old son, and he was kind to provide both baby cot and high chair. Unfortunately, we did not have time to visit the vineyard. That will have to wait for the next visit. All in all highly recommendable.
