The hotel was very dated and the apartment was unsuitable for self catering..i.e.no kettle, toaster and the electric hob had just two old style solid rings. The shower needs upgrading. It is not a 4 star hotel as per modern stsndards. Also the 'private' beach sunbeds required extra payment of €20 per day and the hotel demanded €16 per person 'tourist tax'..in CASH. Outrageous!!

Rooms are either façons pool or sea. Street downstairs is quite quiet. Restaurants are surrounding the area while city center is 25min walk. Some staff could be nicer but some are super nice - strange

Our double room was extemely small, not suitable for 2 people for more than 1 night. The shower area was tiny as was the balcony. Again neither srre big enougb for 2 people. The pool closed at 5pm, which waa early as the sun does not det til after 8pm. Other than location on the beach i would not recommend for the cost.

Don't book in October

Not as pleasant as first time 2 years ago. Best location rooms were shut down as they were soon closing for the season. Balcony on outside rooms was not private. Neighbor was playing loud videos on iPad! Elevator was broken and no sign posted on upper floors. Bed was very hard. Front desk should be more familiar with bus stop and times to airport. I had to press them to get information. But location across from beach is excellent.

all the staff were very helpful and very good

at one point we had to find a particular antibiotic and the staff were very helpful ringing several pharmacies in order to find one I town that had the meds. Basically nothing was an issue. The rooms were also very clean and quite large - with a balcony as well. Rooms at the back of the hotel we think were best as we did not get the afternoon / evening heat so could relax more. Food in the area was very good.

Good tourist hotel.

Across the road from the beach, clean and tidy, lovely staff. The rooms a bit small, beds hard, shower minuscule ( I joke not, 24 " square base with colpsable sides. ) good value for money.

lovely Hotel

Great location.hotel staff very friendly on arrival but not so nice when checking out they could have at least said "hope you enjoyed your stay etc etc""..cleaning staff are excellent..ate in restaurant a couple of times food was good and reasonably priced..the view from the balcony was fantastic..we staying in a one bedroom apartment which had lots of space..and very clean...very enjoyable stay.

Extensive modernising required

Average hotel which could do with extensive modernising. Old tiny CRT tv, no free wifi, dated decor, dated feeling. Taxi organised from the hotel is super expensive too. They also require you surrender your passport and leave it on display behind the front desk which nobody was manning when we arrived.

I had a really enjoyable time in hotel San Marco. The staff were very friendly and the room was clean and spacious. My only issues were that the TV in the room didn't work and that the cleaners coming around at 10am is a little bit too early.

Enjoyed our stay

We stayed as a couple for a week and really liked our stay. The hotel isideally located just across the beach. It's a 20min stroll along the promenade to the old town of Alghero. The hotel staff was always friendly and happy to help. The rooms are a little dated, but still good and very clean. Only minus point is the air condition which is quite noisy and rooms heat up quickly without. Rooms facing the sea have a great view, but are very noisy as night life goes on till about 1am most evenings. Our room was on the 4th floor overlooking the courtyard with partial sea view. It's just perfect. The Lido Beach in front of the hotel is beautiful. You can either book 2 sun lounger + 1 parasol for 12€ on the private hotel beach or walk about 100m to a free public area. Tips: The hotel has free WiFi everywhere. Try the hotel restaurant. It's very good value and tasty with excellent service. If we would stay there again? Definitely yes.

Surprisingly Good Service

We were really surprised with how attentive and accomodating the service was during our brief stay. All of the reception staff were incredibly helpful, even allowing a friend who was travelling with the group to print out a last minute boarding pass - nothing seemed like too much of a hassle. Would definitely reccomend the Hotel on this alone.

Italy Vacation

We couldn't have enjoyed our stay more. The staff was unbelievable and couldn't have made us feel more at home for being so far away from home. The managers and bartenders and servers were just fantastic. We will definitely be staying there again. My sincere gratitude to the staff.

Zimmerausstattung/Bad sehr veraltet, kein Safe im Einzelzimmer. Die Zimmer mit Meerblick waren sehr laut durch Straßenverkehr, LKW-Anlieferung und Beach-Bar. Frühstück ausreichend, aber tgl das gleiche. Das Personal war allesamt sehr nett und freundlich!! Es gab tgl frische Handtücher und Reinigung der Zimmer.
