Beautiful and spacious 5 bedroom house, with pool, set in 12 acres

Pincardel is set in the stunning countryside of the Languedoc. Located just 30 minutes from Carcassonne airport and 1 hour 15 mins from Toulouse. Pincardel is super easy to get to and provides a beautiful setting for all year round holiday adventures. Depending on the configuration this house can accommodate 3 to 4 families.

Located in the 'golden triangle'; Carcassonne town (40 mins), Mirepoix (26 mins) and Limoux (16 mins) provide multiple options for restaurants, sightseeing and entertainment for adults and children alike.

Hiking, cycling, horse riding (8 mins away), kayaking, cave exploration, wine tasting (be sure to try the famous Blanquette de Limoux, the world's first 'sparkling wine'), tree top playgrounds and lake inflatables to name just a few of the fun things to do in the region. Of particular note be sure to check out Carcassonne's music festival held every July (attracting 250,000 spectators with previous headline acts including Moby and Elton John) and the Limoux Carnival - held every weekend between January and Mardi Gras (3 months) and the Toques de Clochers wine festival held every Spring, in Limoux.

The house itself is a haven of peace and tranquility. Set in 12 acres it is completely private, with stunning views, yet not remote.

We have two children and have been lucky enough to travel far and wide with them. It also means we have a great understanding of what makes a memorable trip and an ideal holiday home. As such you will find that at Pincardel has hot and wet weather options covered. From swimming pool inflatables, to a hammock in the garden, a swing, BBQ, dvds, books, outdoor table tennis (under cover in the barn), croquet, badminton, football, googles, travel cot, high chair, beach/pool towels, blankets to make dens, garden tent, hair dryers, toastie maker, food processor, cake making equipment, paper and colouring pens, various toys and puzzles and a guidebook with lots of ideas and things to do in and around the region.

There are 5 bedrooms in the main house;
A master bedroom with its own large private ensuite (shower, bath and WC),
two queen rooms and one twin room (2 single beds for kids/teenagers). These share a family bathroom (bath and shower) and a separate WC. The dorm room is located downstairs, directly below the master bedroom and consists of two triple bunk beds (sleeps 6). This has access to the downstairs WC. One travel cot and portable high chair are also available for use at the house and we have five bicycles available for little trips to the bakery.

Maximum capacity: 6 adults with 8 children or 8 adults and 6 children. This house is for geared for families.

We have a separate annex above the barn that can be booked for extra space (and bathroom). This has a double and single bed and shower room. Please contact for a quotation.

The house has many spacious entertaining areas - a large dining room with doors onto the front decking and garden, a large kitchen with breakfast bar (5 stools) and doors onto a decked outdoor seating area with a sofa set and dining table (seats 12). The tree swing is located here. There is a large sitting room with doors leading into the garden and a covered barn space (table tennis in the barn) with more outdoor seating options and BBQ. The swimming pool is 8m x 4m with a hard electric cover. It is surrounded on three sides by hedgerows and open to the overlooking barn end. There is a pool surface alarm fitted and an outdoor pool shower.

The local village, Alaigne, is a short 2.6km bicycle ride away (5 min drive). Here you can pick up baguettes, croissants and local farm produce. There is also a basketball court, post office and various recycling points available.

Belveze du Razes is just 5.7km (9 mins drive) from the house and here you will find more amenities including a bank with ATM, doctors, pharmacy, post office, pizzeria, bar, a newsagents, grocery store and even a beauty parlour.

There are so many things to do in and around the region and a comprehensive guidebook has been created for guests to view at the house (includes bicycle hire and tours, wineries, golf, riding, beach clubs, restaurants etc).
