Hacienda del Lago Boutique Hotel
4/5 Good
"For the area, this is a wonderful little corner. It's not quite at the level of a Hilton, some of the basics were missing, but all in all if I were visiting Ajijic again I would seriously consider this hotel. There is not a specific area for parking. It's a very rough cobble-stone road and within a block there is approximately room for 4-5 cars. If you don't plan to drive and are counting on Lyft/Uber, it's not a concern. The room (Anochecer) did have a plush mattress - so if firm is your thing, try a different room. It also had a small refrigerator and a little Nespresso machine, but we had to ask for the complimentary coffee capsules for each day that we wanted them. The bathtub/shower was a big jacuzzi style (but we only used it as a shower). There was plenty of hot water on demand, but stepping into the bath tub meant lifting your foot up and over the side (almost 2 feet) and then stepping into a loose-bottomed tub that had no traction at all. Normal self-preservation will keep you safe, but if you have troubles with balance maybe a traction mat or a sit on the edge and spin in is a better decision. The air conditioner worked flawlessly, and there was a ceiling fan if you prefer to avoid AC. Note: The double sliding doors don't lock. While they did give us a really interestingly long key, it didn't function and there was nothing to stop interested parties from just entering the room. All that said - for the area, it is a nice, well kept hotel."
