Do not believe the reviews!!! Upon arrival at the hotel we found out international credit cards weren’t accepted! Would have been nice to know beforehand. When we got to the room the bathrooms were filthy, not just a little…but gross. Wifi wasn’t working on our floor. Street noise was a problem. We asked for our money back and they moved us to a sister hotel not far away. Cleanliness wasn’t much better but tolerable. Took quite a while to get wifi to work. Decided to give it a chance, was woken up at 3am from people on the floor checking in/getting there, this went on for an hour. Went to call front desk but no phone. Got dressed and went to complain. We got a refund for the second night and went somewhere else!

You get what you pay for, so it’s hard to complain about hotel samovar. While handily situated near the big sites of Agra, the hotel is a bit on the grubby side, despite its affordability. Reasonable eating options are also nearby. If on a budget, you’ll make do with this place.

Hotel restarting possibly under new management

It seemed like we were alpha-testing the facilities. Even the WIFI in the lobby was sketchy, and in the rooms was hopeless. Shower didn’t work in one room. Breakfast appeared to be makeshift in a deserted restaurant. I wish them luck as they pull together the pieces of a functional hotel.

Hotel getting a new start

This hotel has apparently reopened recently, perhaps under new management. There was a sense that we were alpha-testing their systems in terms of hot water, WiFi, and included breakfast. There was a fair amount of confusion. However, the staff were responsive and well-meaning. I hope they are able to get their ducks in order.
