This was a single night visit to the area. Room was neat and well appointed meeting my requirements. Regrettably unavoidable traffic noise detracted from overall positive experience

Horrible stay.

Absolutely horrible stay. 3 single beds that they came and pushed together to make a double. The mattresses were ancient. Sunk down in the middle with all of the springs exposed. I put the extra quilt from the third single bed underneath me to try to soften the piercing of the springs in my hips, which didn't help. The carpet was thread bare with wrinkles and was filthy. There was frosting on the windows as your were directly in the street and people passing could look into the room, so absolutely no view to the outside. There was a chair in the corner with a cover over it that didn't fit and kept slipping off. The hairdryer didn't work and smelled of burning wires when turned on. The shower had very little pressure. No shampoo or conditioner. A shower stall with no shelves. This isn't a 4 star hotel. It made our visit miserable and should not meet Hotel.com standards to even be listed on the site. We were extremely disappointed.

Perfect and cost effective stay! 5*

Fantastic stop for working in the north, enjoyed my stay thoroughly and the staff were so lovely. Fantastic whisky bar I made full use of on my stay. Wish I’d made use of the breakfast and dinner while I was there as it looked and smelled amazing. Would return here in future 100%

This was a one night stay at short notice. It did what it said on the tin as such - it was a clean bed for the night. Dining is very limited, from the front on arrival we actually thought the place had been shut down for years, as it certainly looked it. Had to hunt down the reception as no signage on the outside. We were the only ones staying that weekend, so wouldn't expect full dining service, but we checked in about 5pm and there was no one on site from 7pm and still no one around the following morning when we left at 8.30am, which we were told to leave the room key in lock on back of the door and leave it open when leaving. I think, for us, the room was clean, but the facilities are EXTREMELY limited - for instance the in room mini fridge didn't work, the entire room flooring was non slip 'bathroom' type flooring which was extremely cold underfoot, the radiators didn't seem to work, the TV was above and behind the sofa bed, so you couldn't watch that - needs moving to different wall completely to be watchable, the shower room was set up for disabled but the shower head had to be held when you were showering and it was a limited flow and not very warm, the shower room floor was full of ants the following morning - presume they came up the drain, so needs looking at, I had to wash them down with he shower head as best I could. There is a sauna in the bathroom that was filled with duvets, so one presumes it didn't work but no signage to say that. Disappointing!!

Overpriced for the quality of the rooms, almost as expensive as the high-end Station hotel nearby for a hostel-style room here. Breakfast wasn’t included which was surprising. Didn’t expect to have to share a single communal toilet and shower with the other guests on the same floor. Towels provided were very small, especially considering the toilet and shower room is down the hall. Hotel was clean and reception staff were helpful with unusual check-in.

I came with some relatives, so we got two rooms. The first thing we noticed was the terrible smell of the kitchen, and when we got up to one of the rooms, the bathroom had NO lighting..:they said electrician canceled on them, and that’s not all. In both rooms, tons of stains were on the blanket, but the worst part was the BED BUGS in one of the rooms!!. When we went to complain, the person at the reception was calling a staff member (seemed to be the manager) and saying hushly, “the guests found them aga-” but then was cut off by the manager. Clearly they were aware of the issue. “Terrible” is too nice of a word to describe the conditions we saw at this place. Was surprised that such horrible places are even allowed to list on Expedia, which we have always trusted.

Lacks Customer Service

For the £133 it cost for the room I was fairly disappointed by the whole offering. Room probably wasn’t worth that for a single occupancy. However my real disappointment was when the receptionist was delighted I didn’t want breakfast as it was another she didn’t have to do and then once checked in I went to the bar at 7:55 to order a beer and food to be told “the chef shut the kitchen, she’s had a long day”. Unfortunately that isn’t my problem and with nothing else open I had to drive 10 miles for food.
