"We had the most wonderful stay at this quiet country cabin! From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by peace and country serenity. The cabin was spacious yet so cozy, comfortable beds, and even a few special touches like the outside furniture/swings for sitting out on the porch.The property itself is remote—tucked away enough to feel completely private, yet still close to a few small towns. We spent our mornings sipping coffee while watching deer graze nearby, and our evenings enjoying the stars by the fire pit. Cooky’s Café in Golden City is 12 minutes away and was our goto for several breakfast/lunch meals during our stay. Jasper is about the same. Carthage about 30 mins, and Joplin was about 45 mins. We were there for a funeral. That being said, the quiet and peaceful setting was so helpful if not healing to unwind privately after dealing with the stress and emotional turmoil a funeral can cause. The hosts were kind, responsive, and clearly care about making their guests feel welcome. If you’re looking to unwind, reconnect with nature, or just take a break from the noise of everyday life, this cabin is the perfect place. "
