Many of Orbitz’s trusted airline partners are waiving change fees for eligible new bookings. Find an updated list of airlines here, and stay informed about your flexible travel options.

You’ve probably skipped out on buying travel insurance more than once. But is it just a matter of time before you regret being so cavalier with your travel plans? It really depends on where you’re going and what you’re doing.

Let the handy flowchart below help you decide when it’s probably okay to skip out and when you should probably pony up for travel insurance.

  • For example, if you’re road trippin’ soon, consider The Rental Car Damage Protector from Allianz Global Assistance, just in case you come bumper to bumper with a pothole in Pawtucket.
  • Or, looking forward to a long weekend at the beach? A simple Key West or SoCal excursion may not always demand insurance, but if you frequent nice hotels with poor cancelation policies, the simple Allianz Global Assistance Basic Plan can cover you.
  • Or are you always looking to add new stamps to your passport? Does part of this involve the urge to stand at a ship’s bow and proclaim “I’m king of the world!”? Has any foreign adventure led you to a bacteria-bathed Bangkok food stall or an ankle sprain at Angkor Wat? A travel plan can help with hospital costs.
  • Annual Deluxe or Annual Executive Travel Plans offer year-long protection, so if you always find yourself with the travel bug, this might be just the ticket.
  • Oh, and if you don’t want to travel at all (who are you?), may we recommend the Travel Channel.
