Grand Wailea: A Waldorf Astoria Resort: Maui, HI
When the monotonous sprawl of Kihei comes to a grinding halt, that’s when you know you’ve reached Wailea, a resort community boasting some of the finest hotels in the South Pacific, including the gorgeous Grand Wailea, situated on an enviable40 acres of tropical beachfront property in Maui. In terms of luxury, think sunset dining in your own cabana for two, a mini resort-within-a-resort for kids, and guestrooms so lovely even the budget ones include their own private lanais.

The Modern: Honolulu, HI
Downtown Waikiki is a glamorous place where hunky surfers rub shoulders with coteries of shoppers who jet set from Asia for weekend shopping excursions. Unfortunately, not all hotels have gotten the memo. Enter The Modern Honolulu, a chic lifestyle hotel that’s bringing Honolulu’s lodging scene into the 21st century with contemporary and unfussy guestrooms, island-grown victuals from Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto, and two pools including the sultry Sunset Pool for adults only.

Hotel Mousai: Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
In gorgeous Puerto Vallarta there are beachfront hotels and there are resorts nestled in the mountains. Hotel Mousai is the rare property that is perched above breathtaking Banderas Bay, just steps from the beach. Slide open a pair of glass doors leading to a private terrace and jetted pool, draw back the curtains using an iPad, or swim in the rooftop infinity pool. The resort is all-inclusive and adults only. For swinging singles and stressed-out parents, that spells P-A-R-A-D-I-S-E.

Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen Resort: Riviera Maya, Mexico
In the case of this Mayan Riviera Hyatt, the use of the word grand is not overstated. Located in the heart of bustling La Quinta Avenida (Fifth Avenue), the Grand Hyatt’s winsome appeals are numerous. Among Riviera Maya’s finest, imagine a gorgeous strip (460 feet in length to be exact) of white-sand beach sandwiched between the turquoise waters of the Atlantic ocean on one side and the hotel’s gorgeous and expansive pool scene on the other. We also love the hotel’s contemporary appeal—clean, simple and minimalist, from the guestrooms to the chic lobby.

Caesar’s Palace: Las Vegas, NV
This Romanesque winner is one of our Sin City favorites. Caesar’s mid-Strip location puts in the beating heart of Las Vegas action including being just a stone’s throw from the fountains at Bellagio and the new High Roller observation wheel. Its Colosseum is the home for musical legends like Celine Dion and Bette Midler while its kitchens boast the names of culinary superstars Guy Savoy and Gordan Ramsay. At almost 50 years old, its become an enduring Roman empire in the desert heart of Las Vegas.

K West Hotel and Spa: London, England
We’ve all heard of jolly old England, but what about a newer, swankier U.K. hotel where the staff wears Converse shoes, the lobby is infused with rock ‘n’ roll and contemporary rooms stand in stark contrast to dusty chains and bed-and-breakfasts elsewhere? We love London‘s K West because its modern, glass facade stands as a beacon of coolness, it’s just small enough to feel intimate, and its bar and restaurant are the kind of places we want to hang out.

Be Live Collection Grand Marien: Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
Punta Cana, at the easternmost tip of the Dominican Republic, is an undeniably excellent tropical getaway with beaches touching both the Caribbean and the Atlantic. We like the Grand Marien because its reliance on thatched roof architecture, old-world charm with a contemporary twist and location at gracefully curvy Costa Dorada Beach. The Grand Marien is all-inclusive which means visitors have permission to leave their wallets behind and switch their brains fully into paradise mode.
