Orbitz senior editor Jeanenne Tornatore explores Disney’s many debuts this summer, from outrageous new light shows in Anahaim to fancy new Frozen shows in Orlando, and more. Take a look.

Hi, I’m Jeanenne Tornatore, Orbitz.com Senior Editor. This summer, millions of visitors will pass through the gates here at the Disneyland Resort here California and at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando. And whether it’s your first time or you just can’t get enough, there’s always something new to experience, and this summer is no exception. Here’s a little sneak peek at some of the new magic at Disney Parks.
Let’s start here at Disneyland, where visitors are enjoying the resort’s Diamond Celebration, with three fantastic new after-dark shows to celebrate 60 years.
First, the new Paint the Night Parade lights up Main Street USA with more than 1.5 million LED lights and even more imagination.
Second, the Disneyland tradition of creating big, dazzling firework shows will soar to new levels as the Disneyland Forever show immerses guests in stories from the tips of their toes to the skies high above.
And third, award-winning actor Neil Patrick Harris will serve as host along with Mickey Mouse in a new fun-filled presentation of the popular nighttime “World of Color Spectacular” in Disney California Adventure Park.
And visitors to Disneyland will also enjoy the newly opened Grizzly Peak Airfield featuring Smokejumpers Grill and magical updates and special effects to the beloved classics Matterhorn Bobsleds and Peter Pan’s Flight.
If Orlando’s on your summer itinerary, don’t worry, you won’t feel left out. Here are some of my favorite new delights at Walt Disney World.
Ever hear of a little movie called “Frozen”? Well, this summer guests can take part in “Frozen Summer Fun Live,” featuring a daily procession with your favorite characters, sing-along celebration, dance party, and “Frozen” fireworks.
Epcot guests will enjoy new entertainment acts throughout Epcot World Showcase, including a new twist on American songs by a capella group American Music Machine, choreographed flag-throwing at the Italy Pavilion, and at the Canada Pavilion, a friendly competition among lumberjacks.
And Downtown Disney continues its multi-year transformation into Disney Springs, a shopping, dining, and entertainment destination set amid open-air promenades and meandering springs and full of charm.

  1. Who cares, I wouldn’t spend any money supporting this corp. that is replacing American workers with H1Bs.
